Cardigans Cancelled

Dear, I fear we're facing a problem.

When we posted about that Cardigans tour last week, Nick pointed us to this blurb posted on the band's website:

I don't know why the US tour has been announced yet. We in the band has NOT accepted the budget for the whole trip yet and for me it's unaccaptable to announce a tour before it's all set. So all of you who celebrate now, you may be in for a big dissapointment. Sorry to say this, but it's the truth.
Sure enough, Ticketmaster has cancelled NY, Boston, and Minneapolis. (Via Brooklyn Vegan.)

Yo, America -- can you cough up the dough? When Nina says she needs fine wine, she means fine.

I was just about to buy my tickets for the Avalon, now I'm gonna wait to find out what the deal is. This is irritating.

What, no cheeky pun headline.

"Cardigans' Tour Unravels"

"Cardigans not 'In' This Season"

You can do better than that.

I think part of the reason the tour is not coming together is due to the fact they currently have no label over here in the US. Which is too bad, the new album is fanastic! Magnus of The Cardigans is always giving updates. For those interested check out thecardigans.com.

What are your sources Glom? They better be good sources, because we all have had the image of Nina as an innocent sweetheart for quite some time. Granted its based solely on her voice, which is pretty faulty reasoning, but still. Plus shouldn't her voice have gotten much huskier a la Joni Mitchell by now?

Yeah Nick, they are pretty solid with their updates.

Man, I'm so bummed about this. I was all set to buy tickets to the New York show. Still, not all hope is lost...

Evan: From hours of personal experience. Just typically Swedish in that she hardly radiates warmth. Does have a sense of humour, albeit one that is slightly dark and oft-hidden (which sorta fits with those Sabbath covers when you think about it). Granted, this was always in "work-related" environments but, bottom line, she is def more "rock&roll" than you would think from the videos. Still smokin' hot though.
