Geezuz. INXS was already becoming a distant memory when he died. Had he lived, he'd be doing The Surreal Life today. But he stupidly died, so he's worthy of this.

INXS influenced how many other bands? They had how many truly great songs? (Rhetorical questions...)

How about if you knew shit you'd know that INXS were very early instigators of rock fused with funk channelled through the very lithesome, enigmatic smooth vocals of Michael Hutchence - no one else has fused such elements together since - Hutchence was an extremely charismatic front man, fantastic vocalist & lyricist, the music was fun, sexy and groovesome rock - All Hail X X X X X

I agree with the post about Michael he was the best frontman and amazing vocals. He also was real not fabricated like his so called replacement. That has turned into a joke with j d fortune and his fortunettes as the supporting backup band that inxs have become. I loved this band but do not have much respect for them now. It wasn't so much the way they got their replacement for Michael , on a show with 15 contestants, have you seen the selection they had? This was their way to replace Michael? fortune is a proven impersonator of high caliber.. Elvis, Buddy Holly, and others, now he copies EVERYTHING Michael did and his syle, mannerisms, tries to imitate his lifestyle. It's depressing and there isn't any dignity left to that band.
For the movie , yes, Johnny Depp is first choice, don't know if it's been offered or what that outcome is. It would be nice to have an australian do the part, but cannot think of a right fit now.

I like Heath Ledger as Michael also. MH was the best and greatest rockstar and now rock legend.
Have to vent about inxs new singer. he has taken over that band and the remaining members are just his puppets and he pulls their strings. There is video of Andrew bowing down to jd and doing the symbol of I'm not worthy. They are all over him kissing him on stage and do as he tells them to do. He is the spokesperson for the band and has stated that they may change their name back to the Farriss Bros. He has also said he is recording his own solo album and wants to act in movies now maybe role as a young druggie type. Copying Michael much???? He said he went to the hotel Michael died at to honor him?? He wants to sing all of MH's songs even the personal ones like "searching, etc. and the band just let's him do whatever he wants. He has copied Mike's singing style, his poses in photos are so like MH that it is an obvious joke. He has just sucked everything he can from Michael's style, name and yet nobody in the band respects MH enough to barely mention or honor him in any way and they have had multiple opportunities. jd sings Michaels songs yet he was chosen , the band stated, mostly for his writing ability. Why aren,t ALL the songs on their cd switch sung at the touring venues? What a circus act they are becoming. I lost ALL respect for this band, they are subservient to jd and he is so full of himself it is disgusting.

The latest news about the new inxs is jd fortune has been taking tantrums at concerts if any pictures or shirts with michael hutchence on them are found by fans in the audience. Kirk Pengilly replied on his myspace about a concert that a longtime fan brought her picture (a small size) of michael to one of the concerts she attended and had it ripped from her hand by security (who were told to do so because jd takes tantrums if anything close to reminding people of michael shows up at these concerts). The picture was destroyed and tossed on the ground somewhere and the fan left the concert without finding it. She had it in her wqallet for two years and it meant a lot to her. The band said they will do what jd wants and michael will not be mentioned or his picture tolerated at any concert.
I guess they pretty much says what hutch meant to them.

Have any of you actually seen INXS perform with JD? No one can or ever will replace Michael, but JD does an AMAZING job as their lead singer and I am thrilled to have my all-time favorite band back together. If you haven't seen them live with JD, then you have no right to criticize him, or them.

Perhaps some of you are failing to realize that INXS was a band, not just a lead singer with backing musicians. They were a team that wrote together, spent time together, and performed together, and the remaining members of the band do not deserve to have their careers end as a result of Michael's untimely death. I think that its wonderful that they are able to continue on and to honor Michael by performing the music that was part of creating.

I actually saw inxs perform with jd. NOONE can EVER replace MICHAEL.
Inxs was a band with their bandmate and friend who they grew up with for over 25 years. A lot of memories and times spent and shared together. The band chose to honor him by using a reality tv competition choosing from 15 contestants and ending up with an elvis now michael impersonator. Nice honor!! What a trashy and disgusting way to supposedly honor their longtime mate and friend. They could have gone on playing music with different lead singers some of which were Michael's friend and theirs. They could have changed the name of the band and at least left a legacy for themselves with MIchael not let some mimic trash take that position by winning a contest.
It didn't happen with Nirvana and they were together for shorter time than inxs.
Kurt Cobain will always be remembered as the lead singer of Nirvana, unfortunatley inxs will be remembered for lead singer elvis impersonator reality tv contest winner/aper.

Any thoughts for john travolta .I think john stamos in the lead role.
Jeff Buckey I love this guy. Don't know if he's a musician but ethan hawke looks good for the part.
Tom jones is due for a movie bout him. How about the young tom jones played by jd fortune.
Has any movie biography been made for mick jagger? That's a tough one to fill.

First to all, i'm fan of the Rolling Stones too but the difference is cleare, Mick Jagger lives and Hutch don't.... big difference, you know??
