Chinese Democracy Could Be Yours Before Thanksgiving ... Only At Best Buy!

thubmnail icon: Chinese Democracy Could Be Yours Before Thanksgiving ... Only At Best Buy!

You never do know with Axl and the much-delayed, much-overworked Chinese Democracy, but according to a story at Rolling Stone, the post-G'NR opus will be out the end of November ... exclusively at Best Buy. Imagine how much it would suck to be arrested for leaking a release that ends up being sold exclusively at Best Buy? It's like serving time in jail for art theft after nicking a Norman Rockwell calendar. Anyhow, it also seems like Democracy's "If The World" will be used during the closing credits of the forthcoming Body Of Lies, a film starring Josh Hartnett Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe. Of course, this itself could be a body of lies, but check it out:

Via RS:

The latest rumors regarding the release of Guns N' Roses' Chinese Democracy have been swirling around message boards this week. The first rumor is that the long-awaited album will be released exclusively through Best Buy on November 25th. The source of the multi-tiered rumors is a supposed "vendor convention" that Best Buy had on Wednesday in Dallas, Texas. Reportedly, Guns manager Andy Gould told the 900 employees the news about Chinese Democracy before previewing three songs from the album. Cellphone recordings of the event were later distributed through GNR fan forums. Gould also reportdly alerted the crowd that "If The World" would also be featured in the closing credits for the upcoming Leonardo DiCaprio/Russell Crowe film Body of Lies, which was confirmed by message boarders on movie websites (like IMDB) who happened to catch a press screening of the film yesterday.

We'll keep you updated if we learn more. For now, take another listen to "Shackler's Revenge" and remember why it doesn't much matter when this album comes out.

Hey! Are you implying that I did, in fact, give a shit at one point? I resent that.

"Everyone gets Dr. Pepper! Yay!"

There's simply not enough Dr. Pepper in the world to make this right.

You could either buy this Guns N Roses cd for $17.95 when it comes out, OR you could go buy a couple God Lives Underwater cds now for 99 cents each. The end result is pretty much the same.

I have every intention of buying this when it comes out.

I also plan on having to sell it to a used CD store within a day of it coming out.

The success of this album will be stymied when it takes Axl 4 years to select and appropriate single, 8 years to make a video for it, and a decade to decide on a tour schedule.

Easy boys, too much G-n-R bashing might incite a cyber-backlash from the Hessians.

WHO is this band? Never heard of them. Sometimes it's so hard being born in 1990.
Oh well... back to enjoying my first year at college and listening to current, relevant bands.

Eww... That means Axl Rose could be your dad!

Your moms got any ripped jeans in her closet? Did you ever find any pictures of her with a t-shirt tied to the side so it showed off her midriff?

So I guess everyone turned the minute "Shackler's Revenge" came out. Looks like Axl blew it by releasing a single. This could've been the most hilarious disappointment of all time. Now when is Dre's album coming out?

Let's not forget the real tragedy of this G n R incarnation: The Replacements' Tommy Stinson plays bass for them. Sigh.

I can't think of anything worse than being arrested for leaking an album that's gonna be a Best Buy exclusive... except maybe being arrested for leaking a shitty G&R album that nobody bothers to download anyway

I don't know why everyone is so dead set on believing the album is going to suck. There are too many talented people involved for it to completely suck all together, Tommy Stinson, most notably. I, for one, would like it too succeed and I believe in good ol' waxy rose.
