Coachella 2009 Line-Up Not Revealed
Next year's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival takes place 4/17-4/19. That's two weeks earlier than usual, so speculation as to which bands will be heading to Indio has already begun. Last year, we all had a good eyeroll at this fake out. This year's faux flyer dropped in the comments of our Wilco post this morning. Everyone get psyched for White Stripes, Daft Punk, and Bowie? Or don't, since as I said this is a joke. But aren't these fun to debunk? Note the inclusion of LMFAO on Sunday; I thought that was commentary on anyone who takes this flyer at face value, but apparently that's a real band name. Real line-up will be announced in January; until then take a look at this flyer and tell us if you can prove it's fake.
Too bad there's no Jackson 5.

2. The female R&B contingency (Solange, Nikka Costa, Janelle Monae) - US festivals don't give a crap and overlook this type of thing (sadly)

People make fake lineups to play the role of a douche merry prankster. They know that some people will believe their nonsense, so it's a derivation of attention whoring. It's a bit sad that people fall for this each year. The actual poster isn't put together in Photoshop until the night prior or at latest the day of the lineup announcement.
