Comedians For Kerry

Last week's Concert For Kerry in LA looks like a blast. Any event involving three or more Mr. Show alums in the same room gets my attention (the third being Paul F. Tompinks, not pictured ... though Patton is always a welcome addition).

Anyone go to the Tinkle one in NY?

UPDATE: Someone commented (I accidentally deleted it) about Patton playing Famous Mortimer in an episode of Mr. Show. Is that true? I can't believe I missed that. I love Famous Mortimer. He directed Streakdome '97 yo!

I went to the Tinkle... sadly, I couldn't help but feel let down. Marc Maron was very funny and although there were some scattered laughs, overall it just didn't live up to expectations. Cross, Berry and Benjamin never really hit their stride - I think they may have had a few too many. It seemed like a good idea on paper and after hearing Cross' two comedy cds with their political rants, I figured it'd be killer. Hell, I'd been to Tinkle before and I knew what to expect... this just wasn't very good. It did go to a good cause though, so I'm not complaining.

Ted Leo did play a cover of Rush's "The Spirit of Radio" though - that was pretty awesome.

Sarah's like Britney Spears for Jewish guys with her semetic good looks! Do you have any shots of her partially exposed nipple?

*sigh* No talking about Mr. Show on the world wide web! It's far too good to be known by any of the normals...

I went to Tinkle. I left early... I went to Tinkle every Sunday last summer - it was an amazing act. I like the video skits they do. HOwever this show was just like "oh." I had things to do the next day, so I chalked one up for Kerry.

Yeah, I think it was the episode where Tom Kenny is the newscaster and he's reading off the names of his news team and it just keeps pulling out, until there's 20 people on either side of him, including Famous Mortimer, in cape and top hat. Then he says "me and your mother are getting divorced" and then hilarity continues ensuing.

Sarah Silverman - yuk. Fake-ass voice, not funny. Her pretty girl-foul mouth schtick is t-i-r-e-d. Plus, she screws her way into jobs. She barely did anything on Mr. Show - the other women were way better than Silverman.
