Photos: Arctic Monkeys @ Hammerstein Ballroom 5/15/07

Still sitting atop the UK charts three weeks after their record's release, Arctic Monkeys continued their Favourite Worst Nightmare romp through the states with a stop at Hammerstein Ballroom last night. The night featured minimal banter, a fairly frenzied crowd, and lots of fancy faces (some Strokes, Regina Spektor, an SUV-limoed Lindsay Lohan, and a presumably bicycled David Byrne). Check the pics, one now and the rest (with setlist) after the jump.

I love how unassuming they are- just dressed normally, jeans and tees. They seem like such fun guys; from the lyrics and interviews, I cannot help but adore them.

No Julie - You're perfectly normal. It's the REST of the world that have gone mad.

I like that "A Certain Romance" song, except for the first minute of it- the "rock intro". I have heard nothing else by them.

was that like, a review?

no bleep, it was actually our inaugural Photo post! of course it was meant to be a full review, but hammerstein staff are a bunch of literally unreasonable morons who didn't understand the situation and forced me to leave the building after seven minutes of music. but we really wanted to get some coverage out of the night. pics are better than nothing, right?

moving forward we'll post a mix of full reviews and photo posts depending on the competence of the band and/or venue staff ;) but we'll think twice before hitting hammerstein again.
