Les Savy Fav Coming To A Brooklyn Near You

Dave spilled the beans before I was able to tell you guys, but on July 9th, Stereogum & Ice Cream Man will be curating a show at McCarren Park Pool. Headliners: Les Savy fuckin' Fav! And it's FREE.

This concert will be the first in a series of Sunday afternoon pool parties presented by JELLYNYC. There will be DJs, food, drinks, and slip 'n slides (really).

Other acts lined up include Deerhoof, Of Montreal, The Walkmen, Les Savy Fav, Enon, Apollo Sunshine, Beirut, Dr. Dog, Human Television, Silversun Pickups, The Harlem Shakes, and Elvis Perkins.

The goal is to raise awareness of The McCarren Park Pool as a cultural venue and generate money to aid in the restoration of the facility as one of Brooklyn's premier cultural icons.

I'll let you when I have the rest of the line-up solidified. But in addition to the indie rock, we want all facets of the arts involved. So if you've got some cool non-music act you wanna perform for 5,000 sweaty hipsters in between sets, pitch your idea in the comments (don't forget to fill in the e-mail field!). I'm talking comedy, dance, sword throwers, sharks with fricking laser beams attached to their heads ... anything goes.

Wow... what a great lineup. And Ice Cream Man seems like a cool organization.

Band To Watch: Threatmantics

Threatmantics are a scruffy Welsh rock trio that throw some wrinkles into the scruffy rock formula: Instead of a lead guitarist, they have a lead John Cale viola, and their drummer does double-time with a keyboard. The two guys mixing...
