Ryan Adams Plays Surprise Lunch Gig

Yesterday afternoon, Ryan the intern took his lunch break to celebrate the release of Cardinology at the Café Select on Lafayette Street. The small SoHo eatery hosted some 50 folks sans day jobs, and with internet connections to read the rumors. According to Billboard, it was five songs from Cardinology and a couple from Cold Roses, with Ryan taking fan requests for songs, to call their bosses on the phone, and generally battling an espresso machine for a good open mic vibe. That photo comes via Brooklyn Vegan who has more, and this setlist and video of "Fix It" comes from Miss Modern Age because she'd never miss anything Ryan related:
SETLIST
01 "Born Into a Light"
02 "Evergreen"
03 "Fix It"
04 "Magick"
05 "Natural Ghost"
06 "If I Am a Stranger"
07 "Cherry Lane"
08 "Let Us Down Easy"
Ryan's playing the Apollo this Friday for his second annual NYC Halloween show, which is probably the worst place to go in your Ryan Adams Halloween costume.

I saw it. Cosiest mini concert ever. The Puree of Celery Root soup was a bad call but there were some nice tunes. The man likes to talk a lot and make little jokes. Seems like he wants to be tickled or something.

I'm sure more than a few ladies would be willing to oblige him on that....

I rue the day Rick Moranis picked up the guitar and played "Summer of 69".
