Stereogum Does CMJ: Justice @ Terminal 5, NYC 10/20/07

It'd been too long since we'd last seen Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay -- just about six months ago at Coachella, actually, before the now-iconic magic tees shifted their first shape -- so a trek to Terminal 5 seemed in order. While some of us went in heavier, glammier directions while others caught up once more with Drive XV alum the Forms (post TK), Abbey made it two straight nights at T5, this time for Justice. "Mind blowing," she said, adding "the entire night was at a fevered pitch. When was the last time a black sheet being pulled off of an amp tower sent a crowd into overdrive before the set even started? ... You just can't beat the sound quality, and it was one of the greatest shows I've ever experienced ... Do whatever you need to do to get into the show tonight." It's at T5 one more time; info here. And should you go and see Ed Banger label head Busy P way up in the balcony, start chanting his name and pump fists. That's how they did it Saturday night. Jump for more of Abbey's shots.

ALSO: Kanye was there and blogged it, too. (Thanks, Sean)

it was AMAZINGLY great. everyone was going crazy.

No disrespect to monday, but I don't think that audience will have anything on saturday's audience. It was the perfect storm of cmj out-of-towners and insane new yorkers.

I saw their show when they came to town and played Neumo's a the Friday before last. They blew the crowd away. I loved that surprise Master of Puppets musical quote at the end of their encore so much. DJ Mehdi opened for them and he was a late addition to the lineup. Two things I regret about the show though was that first, I should've shown up much earlier at the venue. The merch counter pretty much got shut after selling-out on everything. My second regret was that I should've hung around after Justice's show since Mehdi and Xavier did a tag-team DJ set right after.

afterparty @StudioB was ridiculous.

Their set ended @4:30am with the everyone dancing with the house lights on to "Gettin Jiggy Wit it"

Oddly perfect.
