Courtney Love Sells Nirvana Rights to Martha Stewart?

There's only one source for the story, and it sounds too much like a tabloid edition magnetic fridge-poetry headline to be true...still, 70 million pound sterling (~$120M US) settles a lot of lawsuits. And that's a good thing. (via Digg)

Update: Second source, in German. Puts the price at 59M Euros and says it's for Martha Stewart Music. Now I'm really suspicious.

If this is true, this will be the last post I will ever make on this site, because I will devote my life to the priesthood and never listen to music again.

The Sunday Mirror is owned by the Daily Mirror people and follows a similar style. The Daily Mirror is a tabloid magazine.

Martha would probably do a better job of managing the catalog anyway. I don't give a flip about Nirvana, but the dream team of Love's lawyers vs. Novoselic/Grohl's lawyers has been screwing Kurt's fans for years.

Maybe Martha can pick up some Beatles' catalog from Jacko while she's at it.

Martha Stewart is very smart.. her people tell her Courtney's having cash problems.. Martha has plenty of cash and has been looking for a deal probably that she can benefit from.. so she zooms in and makes an offer Courtney can't refuse. I wonder what Kurt would think? Even if he wouldn't like it, that's tough . Shouldn't have killed himself. I bet Courtney's loving the thought of pissing Dave and Krist off.

I'm fairly sure I read something about this from a source more authoritative than the Mirror...I'll have a look and report back!

What I want to know is what the truth is about money.

59m Euros is like 39m Pounds. And that doesn't add up to what the Mirror was saying, which was 70 m pounds.

In addition, I'd like to know what songs she owns?

I heard this news on NPR radio in Miami. I don't think they would report it if it wasn't true.
