Courtney Talks About Trent Reznor, Blog Hiatus We've all been following Courtney Love's blogged beef with Ryan Adams. In a new post she takes a break to write at length about her brief, intense relationship with Mr. NIN and that, sadly, she's planning to stop blogging: "EMBARRASSES CHILD. LACK OF GRAMMATICAL CORRECTNESS AND SPELLING MAKES ONE LOOK ON DRUGS FOR SOME REASON. DON'T START THINKING 'BUT... BUT... BURROUGHS.'..." Read it all here.

I'll believe the day she shuts up when 50 cent follows through on the retirement promise.

If she thinks Bill Burroughs was all about poor grammar and spelling, she is even more addled than I thought.

Maybe it’s the shear incoherence of what she writes that makes people think she’s on drugs.

uh, despite protestations to the contrary, burroughs was not 'spelling-challenged' and his punctuational excesses (or absences) were intentional (even when 'accidental') and not the result of sloppiness or inattention. seriously: one might want to exercise care when comparing oneself to burroughs, drug-addled though he may have been.

Band To Watch: Fredrik

Earlier this year we shined a light Swedish pop outfit the LK and their electro lovely, wintry gem "Stop Being Perfect." Had we known the band had a side project sooner, we probably would have written sooner. Instead, we came...

Quit Your Day Job: Megafaun

Raleigh-via-Eau Clair BTW Megafaun debuted impressively earlier this year with Bury The Square. The trio nip-and-tuck experimental tendencies (tape splicing, white noise colliding with banjo, junkyard-laced spring reverb, screeching feedback at the tail end of a quiet back porch lament)...

Premature Evaluation: of Montreal - Skeletal Lamping

Skeletal Lamping is anything but skeletal. When we took a close listen to album closer "Id Engager" we mentioned it wasn't the strangest, most ambitious, or best tune on of Montreal's new one, but after absorbing the other 14 tracks,...

Horse Feathers - "Father"

Portland songwriter Justin Ringle's evocative vocal twang and sharp lyricism are at the center of Horse Feathers' bedroom Americana. The band's second album House With No Home, which follows 2006's Words Are Dead, finds Ringle's vision fleshed out by multi-instrumentalist/composer...
