Danger Mouse And Sparklehorse's Dark Night Of The Soul Posters Are Now Everywhere

thumbnail icon: Danger Mouse And Sparklehorse's Dark Night Of The Soul Posters Are Now Everywhere

Not to be confused with Dark Was The Night, except for similar potential for mind explosion. We had more than a few conversations at SXSW about the intriguing, ubiquitous (in Emo's anyway) poster for the otherwise unknown project from old friends Danger Mouse & Sparklehorse, with a billed guestlist including Black Francis, Julian Casablancas, the Flaming Lips, James Mercer, Iggy Pop, Gruff Rhys, Jason Lytle, Nina Persson, Suzanne Vega, even more etcs., and visuals by David Lynch(!). But now they're turning up in bloggers' mailboxes so IT IS ON. As in, let's all post about it and talk it out? Hive mind time. David Lynch implies filmic supplement, the fine print on the poster promises an "album coming summer 2009." Which is almost now. (Hive mind in effect.) Here's what's coming to bloggers via snail mail:

Dark was the night of the soul of the OMG. More when we know it.

I'm not gonna lie... I just want Danger Mouse to do another hip hop related project. Maybe that second album with Jemini? Maybe most stereogum readers aren't up on hip hop like I am. Diversity yall.

one.

The most slept on hip-hop album of all time.
Still I heard somebody talking about a Grizzly Wolf Weekend Hunter album. That's how it's done in 2009.
Word to the motherbird.

Remember the grey album that came out five years ago and how dope it was? Gorillaz-Demon Dayz? Sparklehorse's last album that was also incredible? Ever hear of gnarls barkley? JackFoolio, go do your homework, son.

David Lynch has done some songwriting (for Julee Cruise, the woman who did the Twin Peaks theme, and I think he's written songs for some of his films), so maybe he's contributing musically?

...or maybe he's just explaining how to cook quinoa for 25 minutes (summary: you put it in boiling water. the end.). Oh, David Lynch...
