a quarter of dank bud.. maybe a few bucks like 30-50??? i reeeeaaaaallllllyyyyy want to see the lips this weekend. they are the best band evaaaa.. i also will bring supply some french onion sun chips and an iced tea..

Those big balloons are really sooooo coooooooool when you're baked. And that's where the Sun Chips come in. Makes sense I suppose. Then again, you'd have to be stoned to give up your Lips ticket for such a dubious offer.

In more compelling Lips tips, this Thursday Yahoo! premieres the "Yeah Yeah Yeah Song" video (directed by Traktor, who did that freaky Basement Jaxx clip with the monkeys). Some stills:

Wayne explains the song on flaminglips.com:

"This is one of those songs that points the finger at the pettiness of those in power but also points the finger back at ourselves - what would YOU do? Power in the hands of the inexperienced (which is what we would be) is very dangerous."
So that's why he's dressed as King. As for the angry obese ... maybe a nod to Olivia Newton-John?

Oh, and the video will have a LION in it. Will the Lips/YYYs coincidences never cease? Man, imagine if Karen O joined them onstage in a giant bubble.

Anyone else seeing (or trying to see) the Lips' existential space rock this weekend? Stereogum has no dank bud to trade, but we will do our darndest to be there.

If you haven't heard At War With The Mystics yet, listen here.

I will be at both shows. It should be a great time.

As a long time Lips fan it pains me to say that I'm not enjoying the new album, I've tried, but it just doesn't do it for me.

I'll still see them live though. They never disappoint live.

I think he's saying he'll offer the 1/4 and 30-50 bucks for the ticks. this is why you shouldn't write ads when high, i guess

Take Two Hot Jackalopes To See the Flaming Lips

We jackalopes have traveled far from the dusty prairies and need to see the Flaming Lips on Friday at Webster Hall. If you possess 2 (or 3, or 1) extra tickets to this show, but are sadly lacking in charming female companions to rock out next to, then you might be the very person or persons we are looking for. We are good at: elbowing our way to the bar to buy whiskey, being excited about the Flaming Lips, and making conversation while we are waiting for the Flaming Lips to come on. We are also single, but no promises.

So hurry hurry and email us so we can preen in the woodland brooks (as jackalopes do) to get all ready for the show.

* this is in or around Webster Hall
* no -- it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests

Horse Feathers - "Father"

Portland songwriter Justin Ringle's evocative vocal twang and sharp lyricism are at the center of Horse Feathers' bedroom Americana. The band's second album House With No Home, which follows 2006's Words Are Dead, finds Ringle's vision fleshed out by multi-instrumentalist/composer...
