David Bowie Has Got A Way With Five Words

Last night in NYC, the Webbys held their 11th Annual award presentation ceremony, for which winners were limited to five-word acceptance speeches. Even the Thin White Duke, who won for "Webby Lifetime Achievement Award," had to play along -- and he did so in royal fashion. Via Times Online:

Bowie, accepting his award, said: "I only get five words?", then continued: "S***, that was five. Four more there. That's three," before finishing up with: "Two," and then exiting.

We're told the crowd "hollered its approval." And later, the Facebook crew put the finishing fiver on the night with their speech:

I'm just here for Bowie.

yea... he's basically evil in the Venture Brothers, but he does save the day in the second half of the season (/series?) finale

DB is a badass... but at the same time, his actual website is a bit "lacking" to say the least. The incarnation of it back around... say '96-99 was forward-thinking and entertaining

the version that's existed since then... well - hasn't been so much so. I mean - the diary and "ask david" sections don't get updated for YEARS

I came here to sound cool by bringing up the Venture Brothers, but it's already done. Third season starts in 2008. Here's hoping for more Bowie.
