The Sun describes Britney's controversial new video:
Britney throws a glass against a mirror, then climbs into a bath. She looks at her hands, sees her wrists are cut, slips under the water and passes out. Moments later she's running down a white tunnel towards a bright light.
Brit Brit had considered cutting the scene. Of course, none of her decisions last more than a few hours, so it's back in.
Parents are calling the move irresponsible and completely stupid. And SEXY!

yes pop culture has seemed to go with the stigmatta in the palms and yes, you are correct that most medical experts say that the common practice of crucifixion bact then would favor the wrists because the palm would not be sufficient to hold a man up. But there is some arguements on what constitutes the wrist and probably, according to this info and others, the position would be the "heel" of the palm which would encompass the wrist bones.

wow. maybe you should actually WATCH the video before you attempt to describe it. her wrists are never cut. she put her hand behind her head and when she looked at it, there was blood on her palm. she then slides into the water. the thin red line ALL THE WAY AROUND HER WRIST (which is not how you commit suicide) is from a Kabbalah (spelling?) string. it's a religious thing. besides, if she were to portray suicide from slashing her wrists, the cut should be from the wrist towards the elbow, not accross.

It isnt a suicide in the video... if you watch it closley as she falls into the bath tub there is a small round circle of what apears to be blood there her head was. She touched her head with her hand transfering the blood from the back of her head to her hand. I dont know how she got blood on her head, but if you watch closley you can see it on the tub ledge. It has nothing to do with the braclet. If you watch the braclet it stays a braclet thru the whole video.. never turns into blood.

Okay, I saw the video and I liked it. This is my view on it.
Britney was having problems with her bf....he was somehow driftng away and she was feeling lonely. The paparazzi made it worse by continuing to follow them during those troubled times. In the process, Britney's hair got caught and hit her head in one of the cameras. The couple headed on inside the hotel and got into a heated argument...I felt that it was one of many of their arguments. The bf tries to appologize, but Britney's had enough. They separate and both are shown completely beaten down. Britney gets in the tub and suddenly feels pain in the back of her neck..she notices the blood and collapses. Shown her running into the light...I guess she was feeling tired and ready to let go. Saw herself dying and being reborn again. Her running away was my indication that she is running away from the light. Turned out that she was not ready yet. Wakes up like it was just a dream. Realized that there's more to life and maybe it's just time to move on....smiles at life.
Pretty long observation, but that's what I got from it. I liked it very much!

She will get so much publicity from this video not only because of the "suicide" or no suicide but because she is naked. There is nothing deep or artistic about this video. I am sort of disappointed that Britney canned the whole suicide idea for her everytime video. Britney should be allowed to express her ideas and thoughts through her videos any way she likes, because that's truly what makes her an "artist." I think the video is highly disturbing. Obviously Britney has some issues. I'm sorry, but let's get real people. Ive SEEN the video and (as usual) The Sun got it wrong. She didnt slit her wrists in the video at all, even from the first time i watched it there was no indication that that was how she "died" so I'm not sure how the journalist who wrote this got that bullcrap from.
From what I gathered the vid has more of an element of HOPE in it than giving up and killing yourself. The baby at the end (as pointed out by someone earlier) signifies new life and that there's more living to do, which is why she runs back to try and save her own life. Hence she wakes up smiling in the end. The reason why we see her dead in the ambulance is to show that people have a CHOICE as to which road they wanna take.
If ur actually observant and smart enough to see this then maybe (just maybe) The Sun will have the credence to write a report on a music video addressed to the mass public. Its the media in the end that would be the blame for any teen suicides, not britney (or any other pop icon) as they're the ones who misguide these people.

the original idea for the video was suicide, some art director pitched the idea. she was supposed to take pills right before she got in the tube...but of course that wasn't allowed. so they just filmed it without the pills. as for the ending...when she sits up in the tube and laughs...mtv said if she didn't add that to the end, they wouldn't play it. you can download versions without that ending, i found a version from bonline.

Ok people,some of you are clearly confused with the concept of this video.For starters,she did not commit suicide.Reading some news reports lately,it has been said that britney did yes originally have this as an idea,but then for various reasons did not decide to shoot it like this.For people that have seen the video,there is a bit at the beginning when she is walking into the hotel and the press are there,and she is pulled back by a screaming fan (or paparazzi) and you can see she is in alot of pain, probably hitting her head on a wall or possbily a pillar (newyaz thats not the point).When she is in the tub she finds that as a result of this fan she is bleeding in the back of her head. The kaballah bracelet is a bracelet!and not a slit in her wrist.She falls unconcious but is still breathing,because you can she is exhaling when you see the bubbles she is blowing when she is under the water.She dies and then you see the baby part,this is her being reincarnated.Then at the very end you see her comming out of tub,this is in the very future,her grown up from when we see her a baby.

I think it's a pity that Britney's best song to date has been ruined by having to make a controversial filmclip to overshadow the actual music, which is what it should be about.
I think she needs to realize that she doesn't/or shouldn't need to seek the extra attention if she believes in her own talent, and I think this song could have made it on it's own without that filmclip. I agree with many others that it doesn't suit the song at all, and I also think that young girls reading incorrectly into the filmclip could end up endangering themselves as a result. I think Ms Spears needs to be more responsible in future.

Hey! I'm not a big Britney fan but I think she finally did a good job with this one. Yes I think it's a 'Sorry' to JT, almost a reply to 'Cry Me A River'. I just love the chorus and am really impressed that she wrote (even co-wrote) this song. The whole message of the video was in the line "Everytime I try to fly, I fall" hence the name of the song.
"Without my wings, I feel so small". Her wings being being JT (her strength and true love) without whom she can't fly.
