Fat Man And The Dancing Girl

Mighty, fallen, etc. (Reuters photo)

Boy George's newest troubles with drugs and the law started last Friday. From the AP story:

Boy George was arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs and making a fake police report after calling 911 early Friday, police said.

The British singer, whose real name is George O'Dowd, claimed his home had been burglarized around 3 a.m. Friday, said Detective Kevin Czartoryski, a police spokesman.

Officers arrived at O'Dowd's Manhattan apartment and discovered a small amount of cocaine next to a computer, police said. Police were continuing to investigate.

I'm surprised they didn't find baby oil and Kleenex next to his computer. I bet they did, but didn't mention it. The falling star has since fled to London, which doesn't really lend much credence to his innocence plea. He'll be home for Christmas, though, as he's due back in court on December 19th.

In related news, Robbie Williams lept to Kate Moss' defense at a press conference promoting his new record, Intensive Care. "I have done cocaine with these people and, the way they have so much power over people's lives, it wouldn't have surprised me if she had tried to commit suicide the week that everything hit the papers."

Elton John has also weighed in, speaking from his own experience with drug abuse, which doctors are now actually diagnosing in overly-thin female patients.

If you are wondering if Elton John would speak out for you, analyze your relationship with Sir Reginald Dwight here.

UPDATE: Thirteen bags of cocaine found in George's apartment, says NME.

*I'm surprised they didn't find baby oil and kleenex next to his computer.*

And why would they bother to report finding what's next to every male's computer? If anything it would make him seem less of a freak.

Don't thank me... thank Bob Harris for spreading the "baby oil + kleenex = masturbation" trope: http://www.bobharris.com/content/view/246/48/

I just have to say, the best version of Karma Chameleon was done by the Beat Farmers. It rules all.

jed, please don't try and cover up your insecurity about your chronic masturbation at the computer by shunting it towards Boy George. I mean, we know it's a problem, cause you jerk off all over the computer whenever you come up with the badly written snark you consider to be a blog entry. What the hell is the point - are you saying that since Boy George is a known homosexual that makes him more likely to be masturbating at his computer, and it's something to be mocked?

Dude, how did you interpret Jed's baby oil and kleenex comment as homophobic? Men masturbate in front of their computers -- it's no mystery. Methinks you might be the one with insecurities, holmes. Chill out.

doctors are diagnosing cocaine addiction in overly thin women... but... elton john? boy george? why are the guys on coke puffy and bloated while the women are emaciated? seems a little unfair.

ah well. there's always tapeworms.

No, but I do think he looks more like a serial killing clown. . .
