Feist & The Sky Choir (Feat. Grizzly Bear) Do Conan

For those that couldn't be at Town Hall for Feist's feel-good romp through "1234" with the "Sky Choir" (the name she gave to a group of kids + Grizzly Bear that night), this performance on Conan, recorded earlier that day, gives a fair idea of how it all went down. Maybe one or two too many "ba-duh-ba-dada"s here, but worth a watch; you can't argue with Feisty Bear on the TV.

i thought the version on leno was far better. i think the fact that this wasnt her regular band held the performance back.

and it doesnt help that i think grizzly bear is wicked lame. (gasp! annie onymous doesnt like somthing besides elvis!)

annie, i'm with you on everything except grizzly being lame. this was a weak, boring performance, elvis sucks, but feist is still amazing (especially live). something about this just didn't translate to TV, but that's often the case with our beloved indie folk.

Anyone else totally sick of this broad yet?

Or is it that I work in an advertising office where a bunch of bespectacled, pretentious a-holes do nothing but sip lattes all day and mull over "creative" while playing Feist CDs over and over and over and over and over and over and over and FUCK.

"grizzly bear is wicked lame" is the lamest/dumbest statement I've heard in ages.

annie onymous is wicked stupid.

Every time I've seen/heard a live version of 1234 it's been terribly disappointing. Near the end when she should be belting here lungs out she either goes quiet or steps back altogether. However, the Kimmel performance of I Feel it All was glorious.

Yeah, I agree that the performance of "I feel it all" on the bus was much better. "1234" and "I feel" are two completely different songs. The video director for "1234" understood that the song needs to be a massive broadway musical with motion and firework explosions of color. On a dimly lit stage with simply some hip swaying the song sounds wrong. It was just out of context.
On a similar note. I learned from experience last week that Yellow House is not ment to be taken to your parents house to play while you are having dinner. Grizzly Bears are amazing, but they are ment to be focused on and dissected. I can see how a lot of people just looking for something to play in the background would think the Grizzlys were dumb.

is meant meant to be spelled ment?

agree with you on Yellow House though, demands more than the casual listener will often give it.
