Futureheads Acoustic Show @ Pianos

It was free, sponsored by Swatch, and everyone got in. The Futureheads lived up to expectations, and I tried out my new camera:

Anyone go to the Webster Hall show? Here are some other camera experiments from the weekend...

Nightmare Of You @ Delancey:

Aziz Ansari Punched A Wall @ UCB:

DJs Tarts Of Pleasure (i.e., Karen Plus Corey Feldman's Neighbor) @ the Killers afterparty at Misshapes:

Fear not readers, Jeff and I stood awkwardly in the corner the entire time!

aw that looks so cool. everyone didnt get in! i was line and got cut off about 10 ppl in front of me. they told us we could wait but that it was filled to capacity. i went to the Webster Hall show, it was super fun. they are really great live, dancey, cute, energetic, some almost apcapella stuff (pre-rehearsed banter but whatetever). great live show for sure!

Glad you could be there to represent all of us who would be standing awkwardly in the cornor.

Am I the only one who's glad Scott doesn't feel the need to post pictures of himself at these events?

I was standing confidently at the bar, behind rows and rows of heads. And they could've crammed at least 10 more people up there. It wouldn't have been comfy, but hey... it's only for a half-hour.

Yes, -- sorry forgot to post about that. Here's the info:

Subject: Please Help Spread The Word: Scenestars is still accessible, hold the WWW

We got a DMCA Copyright Violation notice from our registrar, GoDaddy, in re the White Stripes "Blue Orchid" single yesterday. Fascinating thing: the complaint revolves around "MP3 Downloading" of the single -- there are no MP3's of White Stripes "Blue Orchid" available on our site and haven't been for weeks. Interestingly, I coordinated the stream I am doing of the album with V2 completely above board -- the complaint came thru something called Web Sheriff in UK on behalf of Beggars Group (XL Recordings?).

They served this to us at 5pm on Friday, giving me no time to try and resolve the issue until Monday. V2 is upset about it, but their hands are tied. The fallout is that you can't get to our site unless you go http://scenestars.net -- the www won't help you, the www won't do you any good.

I wrote a blah blah about it on my site, please tell everyone not to freak out and run. http://www.cherrybloss.org/2005/06/what-hell-is-wrong-with-these-people.html

The Beggars Group/XL people, apparently, aren't tech-savvy and don't read the fine print -- streaming content does not equal MP3 download.
