Girls Talk San Francisco's Girls have the worst backstory. Their backstory involves growing up in a cult, pills, suicides, and getting their first guitar from Fleetwood Mac. BOOORING. JK this shit is crazy. Definitely read the interview at The Guardian.

Cool story, too bad their music is terrible.

KVN must be on worst pills than the Girls guys.

I just read that interview and it was baffling what people would put themselves, and their children, through in the name of "religion" and for what? :(

I have some good expectations for their "Album".

I hate reading stories like that because when a band talks about drugs, it almost always makes me like them less. Not that i have anything against drugs; i've tried and still try some myself.
But it always sounds like "BLAH BLAH BLAH WE LOVE MORPHINE. NO BIG DEAL. BUT WE'RE PRETTY HARDCORE" etc.. I don't know if it's the bands that make it out that way or the media, but it's just annoying to read about this congratulatory image fuck.

Well, I don't like it when bands talk about drugs this way because it's like they're trying to make it seem like it's okay or something...when all of the statistics point to the contrary. On the other hand, I'll give Girls a pass because anyone who was in the Children of God cult and lived to tell about it is probably really suffering and just scraping by psychologically. River Phoenix would probably still be alive today if he hadn't been permanently scarred by that cult.

i guess we are all setting this band up to be the next wavvvvvvvves.

I don't actually mind the few Girls songs i have heard. Not life changing or anything but full of nice, easy pop changes.

Can't wait for the best new music tag, the eventual backlash and the years of drug rehab.

agreed. they basically just brag about drugs being awesome, make a reference to their album having potential to sound as good as Pet Sounds, if only they had better equipment, and throw out some cult shit that you could've pulled off of wikipedia. and he got a guitar from former Fleetwood Mac guitarist. nothing really about their music.
boring.

oh but hey! in case anyone is interested, i've got some H handy, and this guitar that i got from a guy who knew a guy that was the former guy that knew the guy from Fleetwood Mac.
