Have You Heard The New Spoon Album?

Me neither. But apparently it's leaked and it's awesome. Anyone got details?

No, and I'm going to wait to buy it. The 2 demo songs that they released officially were enough to convince me to get the album (not that I needed a lot of convincing from their previous work), so I don't need to hear any more.

it is very good, and probably better than Kill The Moonlight upon early listening, but not as good as Girls Can Tell or Sneaks for me yet at least. it's def mellower, that's for sure.

it was awesome, but i was too baked and don't remember good enough to report. sister jack is good. tasteful spoon-isms like handclaps and tamborines perservere even though the album is more produced. very produced compared to the stripped down 'kill the moonlight'. there's 11 songs. one of the verses sounds like the band is being raped by robots, but like, in a good way.

I Turn My Camera On = Stones 'Emotional Rescue' + Prince's 'I Wanna Be Your Lover'

Not to be overly contrary, but I think that it is a nice record but not nearly as good as the last two Spoon albums.

Where can I get BitTorrent for MaxOSX? And any help converting flac files would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I heard it last night. So far I'm a little underwhemed BUT I can tell some songs might grow on me over time. Here's hoping, because I've been waiting for three YEARS to hear this.

Three years? Kill the Moonlight two years ago wasn't good enough for you?

I love spoon as a greatest hits band. there are so many Spoon songs I love but I feel like their albums are really inconsistent.

This knew one lacks singles as strong as the last two albums but as a cohesive whole it is much stronger.

Hand-down, best Spoon album yet. I Summon You, I Turn My Camera On, Sister Jack... unbelievable.

I really love Spoon and want to hear this so bad. Can't torrent it at work (firewall), so still looking for mp3s. I got some of 'em, but still missing half. From what others are posting, if this really is better than Kill The Moonlight, it must be incredible.

If anyone knows where to find other tracks...

I like it! It took a few listens to soak in, but the material is def. there. At the risk of repeating...I'm digging Sister Jack a lot, too I Turn My Camera On is good and slated for the first 'single,' and My Mathematical Mind is neat.

Well, I don't remember when in 2002 Kill the Moonlight was released (I believe October-ish?). I loved Kill the Moonlight, that's what I'm talking about - sorry. I heard that album almost the moment it came out and fell in love.

It's pretty good. Takes a few listens to get into your system, but it's a very solid album throughout.

I love it so far - "Infinite Pet" already has some strange hold over me. that voodoo you do britt daniel...

For anyone that's heard "They Never Got You", did you think "Maneater" by Hall & Oates for a few seconds?

Having "Turn My Camera On" as a first single will certainly screw with any Spoon pigeonholes out there. Anyone that's heard their Prince cover, "Party Up", from a few years ago shouldn't be too surprised to hear the purple one's influence.

it's nice that spoon allows most of these songs the really breathe. i don't think they've ever done this many 5-minute tunes on an album before (or ever?)

Band To Watch: Blank Dogs

Blank Dogs are actually singular: It's the insanely prolific one-man Brooklyn-based band of Mr. Blank Dog. We don't know too much about the biography of the guy behind the bedroom new-wave pop/punk and he's usually covering his face with masks...

Quit Your Day Job: Megafaun

Raleigh-via-Eau Clair BTW Megafaun debuted impressively earlier this year with Bury The Square. The trio nip-and-tuck experimental tendencies (tape splicing, white noise colliding with banjo, junkyard-laced spring reverb, screeching feedback at the tail end of a quiet back porch lament)...
