Have A Weezer Christmas

thumbnail icon: Have A Weezer Christmas

As previously reported, Weezer recorded six Christmas carols for Christmas With Weezer, the special Christmas edition of the iPhone/iPod Touch "rhythm game" Tap Tap Revenge. The count's unofficial, but with this newest venture, they may have secured themselves a world record for the number of promotional album ties-ins. See, players who get to "hard mode" will find two Red tracks -- "Pork And Beans" and "The Greatest Man That Ever Lived." We know you know those, so we have the red and green winter wonderland anthems.

"We Wish You A Merry Christmas"

"Silent Night"

"The First Noel"

"Hark The Herald Angels Sing"

"O Holy Night"

"O Come All Ye Faithful"

Christmas With Weezer is out via iTunes.

I heard that diarrhea is a Latin word. In English, it is spelled Philip.

hmm.

seriously sounds like they spent 3 hours cranking these out in an LA studio (same tempos, same instrumentation, same guitar tones, zero production diversity).

...but i still love it.

I really want to hate weezer these days and forget about them, but I can't do it! I think most people my age (26) can't.

Yeah, it's a fairly disappointing, bland series of covers, but I really enjoyed O Holy Night. I may be biased, though, as it's my favorite carol.

I agree with Black Jesus. I am 26 as well and really want to forget this band. They were my fave when I was young when the blue album came out. A part of me wishes they wouldn't of got back together after pinkerton but I still love hearing rivs voice. The best in the business in my opinion.

Wow. I'm almost 30 and I loved Weezer. I, however, feel no compulsion to keep liking them. These songs are so bad! So, so bad! I have to wonder if someone wrote software that can mimic Rivers's voice and just punched in the lyrics and let it sing these songs. There are so many missed opportunities in these songs. On Oh Holy Night, where the hell was his voice? Why didn't he belt it out? It sounds like he literally phoned these songs in.
