methinks the unmastered "demo" version was much better.

this version isn't as good as the rough mix. i hope it's a lame celebrity producer re-mix.

Ew. Yeah. The original was waaaaay better.

is this even the same song as the one I found on razorbladerunner.blogspot.com? the one I heard had a phat hip-hop beat. this is like a remix, and it's alright, but nowhere near as good as that mix. damn, yo.

What? Is this video "powered by the cheat"?

And yes, the original mix is waaaaaay better.

I like both versions. The second version is much more dance accesible. People need to stop freaking out and knockin' on poor beck. WHAT DID HE EVER DO TO YOU?!?!?!?!?!?

i've heard the proper version of this song and this must be a remix. because this is not what i've heard. the other one is so much better.

This video gives me hope that "Guero" won't suck as bad as the leaked version did. At least on this, Beck is doing something fresh for himself. On this version, his vocals hit the jackpot, because they are painted over a correct backdrop. But on the leaked version they seemed flat and lifeless. My five cents.

Don't you mean your two cents? Anyway, I like the leaked version better too, the hip-hop beat is way radder than the dancy one. But I like both, and the video is just plain ridiculously fun.

Is it just me or was that video full of gay references? There was the pink triangle-like house roof in the beginning, then the unicorns, then the whole "rainbow-coming-out-of-my-ear" sequence (that was too much).
But that said, Beck rocks. He's a genius . . .
Hell Yesss!

This is the "8 bit" remix, but will air for the video. The original is the leaked version, which will be on the album. It seems like it may be called Ghettochip Malfunction, though.

No seriously, what the fuck was that?

Damn, that would be better if it was "powered by the Cheat." At least it would explain for it.

The only thing I like is the Transformer vocoder chorus vocals... and the speak'n'spell shizzle... hawt. Other than that it totally sucks.

what the fuck? last week you guys were all "man, this blows, beck sucks," and now you guys are saying the demo was much better? you guys just like to complain.

as an aside, i've listened to neither.

This remix was done by 8 Bit, the band/group

http://www.ninjastarrecords.com/bit~1.htm

They're not true 8 bit sounding. Fun to watch perform live though. Best way to describe them: A bunch of drunk gantsa rapping robots. Sometimes one of them gets really drunk and starts wrestling with the other members..breaking beer bottles and stuff. Its actually three guys and one short girl all dressed up as robots. Very cool nice people.

I suppose its too late to get a hold of any of the leaked tracks. But, if anybody knows of a place where I can get a hold of them, let me know please.

I don't want to hear the leaked version this way when the album actually comes out I will be much more stoked to buy instead of knowing whats it's going to be like anyway.

"Writing about music is like dancing about architecture"

- that said, I like that 8 Bit remix. I heard they are just an indie-rap group, that he kind of discovered them... How do I find more info on 8bit? Good for Beck to give new talent a chance and rock it like a moldy crouton. I like their bass...

Shynola are the masters of 16bit Graphic Mayhem. Great video if a little psychadelic cut and paste lo-fi for my tastes. But i bet Beck loves it, the crazy mother.

that group 8-bit is an indie/unsigned underground rap group in LA. i heard Beck's brother saw a show, bought a CD, and passed it on to Beck. Beck liked the CD and he personally arranged for the group to write all the music for this version. The track isn't a remix. its was composed entirely by 8-bit. they have a website at:
ninjastarrecords.com

Beck rocks! I have gone crazy over him over the past 3 weeks when I picked up my odelay cd! His last album sea changes was kick ass and the songs I heard from the new album have taken a new electronic direction which kicks ass. Beck is a genious! I have not seen a band be able to change their style of music from cd to cd like beck has through out his career.

Unfortunately Beck is a scientologist and since scientologists believe in aliens invading bodies because of nuclear events, I can't take his music seriously anymore. Would you honestly buy a record of someone who believes in a galactic overlord named xenu? And if you are in denial about it...check out his new gig...The International Foundation for Human Rights and Tolerance Benefit? A scientologist association. The only words he's never wanted to hear is that he's sold out...and he's done exactly that. This album blows. I've heard it. The only decent track on the whole thing is "Missing" and perhaps "Broken Drum". It's unfortunate..but sometimes artists have to (for a lack of a better word) suck. Maybe he can start touring the scientologist benefit circuit. They're used to paying shitloads of money for a steaming pile of crap.

For those of u wondering you can get the leaked versions of the songs on limewire. I love Beck and the way I see it is that some songs are gonna suck every once in a while, with any artist but I love Beck no matter what cuz he's original and has made my favorite music ever. I've heard both versions of this song... love 'em both.......hell yesssssssssssss!!!!!!!!

Anyone that thinks these albums actually "leaked" ought to be shot for your mere stupidity. It's the oldest maketing trick in the book and you fools fell for it. Beck leaked those "choruses" himself to create controversy and publicity.
