Her London Bridge Ain't All That's Going Down

Not only is Fergie risiculous, but she's larcenous, too! The Detroit News uncovers Ferg's Ludacris looting of DJ Ideal's remix of Gwen Stefani's "Luxurious." Have a listen to these clips, the first from the Stefani remix and the next from Fergie's very own (featuring Luda).

Gwen Stefani - "Luxurious" (DJ Ideal Remix) (MP3)
Fergie - "Glamorous" (MP3)

Who's got the scoop on this recycled rap? Like Ludacris couldn't have spit new lyrics if she asked! And, Fergie, it's not like people weren't on you already for biting on Gwen's style. You do it to yourself you do, and that's why it really hurts.

Yeah, but if you want to split hairs, the original of Luxurious ripped off the sample from "Big Poppa" by B.I.G., which was probably just a sample from another song anyhow. I think it's on that same B.I.G. album he also ganks the sample from Masta Ace's "Me and the Biz." Although the question you pose regarding sampling a re-mix is an interesting one, I feel that ultimately it is moot.

Sample from "Big Poppa" was "Between the Sheets" by the Isley Brothers, there, I knew that information would come in handy one day

from what i can tell, those raps are identical, and that's absurd. ludicrious, even. fergie must have knew.

I've dropped BEP like a stone soon as Fergie got in.
Genuinly don't understand why they took her onboard.
I think I know why they kept her (girl in the group always good for selling the boys) but damn'it they haven't produced a proper track since, the annoying sound of her voice ruined most of them.
Was hoping for a succesful solo-career (so she would leave BEP) but wishfull thinking is all that is, as it seems.
They might be more commercially succesful since she's around, but they'll *never* top "Behind The Front" as long as she is.
Someone make her disappear, please?

P.S. No way I'm gonna listen to one of her tracks voluntarily, so needless to say I didn't.

Gwen/Nellee Hooper may as well have ripped off Biggie, the original sample may have been the Isley Brothers but the squeaky sound is just a modified version of the one from the Biggie track.

Despite the fact that this has already been cleared up, Fergie's track sounds a lot better with the music than the Remix to Gwen's track (although I love both)

People are constantly ripping off tracks, get over it. It's just some samples are better used than others and I think Gwen did her thing on the original "Luxurious" and Polow/Fergie made a fantastic track from the Remix version.

Aw man fergie is just biting on gwen's style and needs to back off. Gwen is untouchable. Shes 10 times more original and amazing than fergie will ever be. Tell fergie to go back to wild orchid because she definatly not as ghetto as she makes herself out to be. Shes a joke. GO GWEN!

the luxurious remix was never supposed to be heard, it wasn't official, gwen hated the remix and wouldn't allow it to be released, so the producer gave it to fergie and she added her own lyrics. simple misunderstanding.
