Yeah me and my roommate tried calling everyone from Ashley Olsen to Avril Lavigne. They all didn't work although one guy had Lindsay Lohan's old number and it said on his answering machine that he knew he had her old number. I think that would suck to have her number, I'm sure he got a lot of weird calls.

Okay, so my phone is broken, so I used my roommate's to call San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom (yes, his number was in there) to see if it really was the Gavster. It was -- I recognized that husky voice saying "This is Gavin, leave a message." Then, a few minutes later, my roommate comes in and is like, "Yo, you got me on some list." Apparently the "San Francisco Secret Service" (which I'd never heard of, they're so secret) called him back to tell him his number was logged and that he shouldn't call back. Creepy. What if it had been Kimberly Guilfoyle?

This Paris Hilton story has gotten more press than the death of Hunter S Thompson (it has more prominent placement on news sites). Does anyone else think that it's a bit, I dunno, WRONG???? On the one side, we have some drunk, mean, socialite that blows guys on camera, on another, we have one of the most important literary figures of the counter culture passing away. I'm convinced that stupid people are finally taking over.

If you have a T-Mobile sidekick, you are automatically assigned an email address with an @tmail.com or similar address. They ran out of @tmail.com addresses not too long ago and switched them to something else.
This is just ridiculous, folks:
1) All the numbers were real. I promise you.
2) All the notes and other scrawls were real.
3) Paris Hilton didn't hire anyone to make this up and neither did T-Mobile. It's a legitimate hack.
4) If you have a Sidekick or Sidekick II and you don't fix the settings to keep it from automatically backing your data up to the internet, this could very well happen again and keep happening to anyone who uses T-Mobile on the web.

We made it through to Lindsay's legitimate voicemail -- it was definitely her. Very standard, though: "Hi, I can't make it to the phone, leave a message and I'll call back."
We also made it to Ashley Simpson's voicemail -- which was really weird. "You've reached Brucella, and I cannot make it to the phone, but leave a message and have a BLESSED day." We can't stand Ashley Simpson, and her faux voicemail was as transparent as she is.
Anyway, Ginger and I realized how shallow and star-obsessed we are. But it's odd; for one night, celebrities were just normal people, fully accessible.
But hypocrisy aside, I feel marginally bad for Paris.
