Hold Steady, Thermals, Ra Ra Riot To Play Rachael Ray's Second SXSW Showcase

thumbnail icon: Hold Steady, Thermals, Ra Ra Riot To Play Rachael Ray's Second SXSW Showcase

As we previously reported, the feisty foodie is returning to Austin this year for her second awkwardly titled (and conceptualized) SXSW showcase: Rose's Mojito and Rachael Ray's Feedback: The B-Side. It takes place 3/21 at Maggie Mae's with the Hold Steady, the New York Dolls (!), Bob Schneider, the Airborne Toxic Event, Ra Ra Riot, Semi Precious Weapons, the Cringe, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, the Thermals and John Pringle(s). We're told "the day will feature tons of Austin inspired recipes created by Rachael herself [and] signature Mojito cocktails thanks to the title sponsor." The slogan: "A Smorgasbord Of Hot Bands And Hot Foods." This clearly does not apply to all the bands, but nobody likes lukewarm food. You can get more info at www.rachaelray.com. Hopefully Franz doesn't get any bean dip on his mustache. Or his soul.

This thing where everyone is embracing indie rock reminds me of the big trend around eight or nine years ago, when the mainstream music press informed everyone that they should be into punk rock. Celebrities started appearing in public wearing Black Flag shirts and crap. Contrived as fuck. Pretty good lineup on the SXSW though...

This is a very good line up but what I want to know is if this iis open to the public or if you need a invite to go to see it. If you do does anyone know how to get one?

I believe it's guest-list only. Not sure how you get on that list though.

I'm pretty pumped for this show! Just saw Ra Ra Riot and Telekinesis the other night, I can't wait to see em again.

Man, she's serving the same food she did last year, which was awful. And the DRINKS! Is a Mojito supposed to taste like rubbing alcohol? Oh, the things I will do for the Hold Steady.

Um, what part of "it's free" do you not understand, douchebag? No one is forcing you to go.
