How Music Got Cheap Breaking news: Record sales are down. In response, so are album price points. LA Times puts together a timeline of great moments in "the album's recent decline in value," starting with the FTC declaration in 2000 that "consumers had paid about $480MM more than they should have for CDs over the previous three years," and running up to present day, It's Up To You, No Really era. It's devolution, baby.

its coming down to the fact that everyone is listening to music on blogs and burnt mp3's. people want that now, but eventually they will want hi fi again.....i hope.....dad?
