Icky Leaks

No, not the whole record. Sorry. But if you've been squandering company work time like the good little elbo.ws addicts you are, you've come across the trio of tracks from Icky Thump that have found safe lodging on servers across the blogosphere. Nothing as the instant-charmer "Icky Thump," though "300MPH Torrential Outpour Blues" is worthy, a track that lives in the '70s and hits hard, with a stoner-friendly mellotronic groove which gets smashed by a Led Zep anvil. Those that seek structure in their Stripes will find lots to love in the parenthetical pounding of "You Don't Know What Love Is (You Just Do As You're Told)." And then there's the Corky Robbins cover "Conquest," better known in Patti Page's hands, all mariachi horns and fuzzy south of the border guitars. Seem like an odd choice for Jack-o? Don't forget the "Icky" clip's Mexican setting. Or that Mr. White mariachis to the beat of his own sister lover drummer.

Keep an ear at Hype Machine and you may hear 'em before Web Sheriff ruins the fun.

You can hear two of the tracks over at Hype Machine.

"Conquest" is definitely my favorite of the three.

Damn fucking Web Sheriff. They attacked Whudahexup twice today for the damn White Stripes tracks. Whats the big deal. If its not the whole album, why are they tripping.

Anyway. "Conquest" and "You Don't Know What Love Is" are great!

Yeah, seriously. Stop that spam shit.

I heard Conquest, but the audio sounded crappy on it. Was it just me? I deleted it. I just couldn't enjoy it.

Conquest is amazing. For a while I thought Jack White might be running out of ideas but then he goes and reminds me why I love him so much.

the whole album was played on a Chicago radio station and naturally, there's a radio rip:
sorry for more shameless linking, but seriously, I haven't seen it anywhere else.
