Idol Weeds Out A Pot Smoker
Count us among the 350 billion people that can't seem to stop watching American Idol. Last night's San Antonio episode was the final audition edition, and it was full of the usual mix of strangled cats and Idol ready pop stars. But we took a particular shine to one of the final contestants, a kid named Akron Watson who, after being given the "you lack charisma" treatment from Cowell, slammed it with a buttery smooth "Let's Get It On." Remember him? The one with the tone deaf, hammed-up-exit-for-the-camera cousin:

Watson, whose San Antonio audition aired on last night's "Idol," was arrested in April 2003 for misdemeanor possession of marijuana, according to court records obtained and posted by PegasusNews.com. He was headed to Hollywood after impressing the judges with his singing, and his story. But Watson tells Pegasus News that two days before he was scheduled to leave for Hollywood, he received a call saying that he would not be competing anymore "for unknown reasons."
