Inside Andy Samberg & JT's Box: A Dick And An Emmy

Hope neither Andy nor Justin are packing too much heat; now they have to make room for some real hardware in that little box. The AP reports that "(Blank) In A Box" took home the Creative Arts Emmy (honoring technical and other achievements in TV -- file this one under "other") for best original music and lyrics, beating two tunes from Scrubs (sorry, Braff, Andy's "Dick" just is that much better). Said Samberg upon accepting the award:

"I think it's safe to say that when we first set out to make this song, we were all thinking 'Emmy!'"
We can't top that.

Good. I hate Zach Braff. I like Andy Samberg, too, even if he can be lame at times.

It wasn't funny when it came out and the fact that it's now won an Emmy is fucking pathetic. What the hell is wrong with comedy today?

Uh, so I've totally like been in a coma for 11 months--what's a Dick in a Box? Also someone tells me Britney was amazingly awesome as always last night at the VMAs. The war on terror is over by now, right?

"what's a Dick in a Box?"

Well, 1) Cut a hole in a box.
2) Put your junk in that box.
3) Make her open the box.

And that's the way you do it.

Damn, I thought it would get Best R&B Song By A Duo Or Group, at least!

Anyone that thinks that shit wasn't funny is just being contrary for the sake of being contrary. It was the funniest thing on SNL since MORE COWBELL!!

They didn't beat Zac Braff (douchebag extraordinaire) per say, but rather the songwriters behind the Scrubs musical episode-- the same guys that wrote the music to the brilliant Avenue Q. So that seems more sacrilege.

But then again, I haven't seen or heard either song. I hate Scrubs & SNL.
