Usually people have meaningful marriages that break up and lead to rebound boyfriends. Jenny has meaningful boyfriends (Puffy, Ben Affleck) and rebounds with marriage. How bizarre.

I think this is really sad. Yes its true that there are many people who have been married three times, but they at least give it some time before they go jumping into another marriage. I mean come on, she was soooooo in love with Ben not even five months ago and now she's getting married. All that girl wants is a baby and as everyone else is saying I wouldn't be surprised if she is pregnant. And if I were her I would really have to evaluate if Marc really loved me. ms. bri...I do know that Marc cheated on his ex but that really isn't the point. Marc and Jen may have always been meant for each other and he just was not meant for his ex and things got hectic between them...besides she was not very pretty at all people just say she was because of her miss universe title but that's not the point either. The point is no one except J.Lo knows why she does the things she does or marries who she marries. Some people just fall in love quite quickly, all of us have our little quirks and faults that is what makes us all unique. I do agree that she gets married too quickly but just like all of us have been in love and then fallen out of love, she could of never seen problems coming in any of her marriages! When you are in love (or think you are) you don't think about all the bad things you only think about being with that person as much as possible and J.lo probably sees marriage as the solution. Well, I kinda agree with MAUGE even though I do find JLo to be very confussed as to what she wants her life to be. To Kingston. You are right. Most of us have fallen in love and fallen out of love. Not all relationships work, but we still keep looking. JLo deserves to find love. However, even small children learn from their mistakes. (I touched the stove, it was hot. I don't touch the stove anymore.) If the first marriage (actually the second) that occured shortly after a public break-up didn't work out, then why do it again? If all the marriages that you have rushed into so far have not worked, then sit back and contemplate for a minute. What is so wrong with dating? That's usually the best part of a relationship. I haven't seen flowers from my husband since our wedding day.
Also, the question of the day on a local radio station was "how long should you wait after a divorce before you remarry?" My opinion - however long it takes for your new love to build a relationship with your children. His kids and ex-wife found out on the news like everyone else. That's just rude and inconsiderate. Has she even met his kids? To me she has walked all over the sanctity of marriage. Not because she marries so often, but because she does it so carelessly. I'm a Catholic too. According to what I have read Jennifer Lopez has been in and out of Marc's life for a long time. I think he married Dayanara Torres because he thought he couldn't have Jennifer. Well I just read all these comments and I have to disagree with a lot of them. Personally, I do not like JLo, but I do think that people are hating on her. She was not seeing Marc Anthony until after he split from his wife. He had cheated on Dayanara but JLo had nothing to do with their divorce. Stacy, I agree with you. I also love Marc, he looks like a combination of both my Sons. As I have said before, he is mature in many ways, deep and sensitive person. Marc has been obsessed with Jennifer since he was seeing her on or around 1998. I think if Jennifer didn't have other interests Marc would have married Jennifer a long time ago. However, I think he thought that would never be a choice for him. Dayanara was crazy about him right from the start (so she said on T.V.). Even after Dayanara and Marc were married, Jennifer was always calling him. According to one of the magazines, Dayanara and Marc had many disagreements over Jennifer.
I hope Dayanara will find happiness. I also hope that after all the excitement is over especially after they have children because that can change things. What I have learned through the years though; when a girl doesn't have a father to interact with and know that he loves her, there is usually a problem with relationships with men. I agree w/Codymama on the void J-lo must be feeling from her father. I wish I knew the story with that. I didn't see it because I wasn't home. They are going to have it on again a few times more. I am going to watch it on the September 2, 4:30 P.M. Mike & Rapha, before you chimed in with your profanity and short-sightedness, we were having an intellectual exchange about the sanctity of marriage, the consequences of our choices, and the possible psychological impact of an absent father. The fact that these exchanges are taking place on a website does not make them any less intriguing or stimulating. And the fact that they are about Jennifer Lopez does not mean that we don't have lives, it simply means that we are well-read, observant individuals who have strong opinions about current events. Bobbie, please don't stress yourself fighting this battle (Mike @ Rapha, bobbiegetalife). It's not worth it. I've enjoyed the exchanges we have had and that's really all I need to be concerned with; the things I enjoy. It is funny though that people write comments like, "you can't believe everything you read about JLo", "just because you read about her doesn't mean you know her", or "stop judging her", when they do the same to us. Mike @ Rapha read a few postings and suddenly knows that I have no life, I'm obssessed, and whatever else. Posting on this site is probably 1/16 of 1% of my time. How can you judge me with so little information about me and then turn around and criticize me for commenting on JLo?
Each day I take a little time out of the non-profit legal work that I do for the low income community and do a little surfing. Sometimes it's this site, sometimes I pay bills, and sometimes I play games. It's my choice and my emjoyment. If you go back and look, each time I post, I try to refrain from name-calling or insults (except for the giving head comment :)), it's not necessary. I don't have to put others down to make my point. I simply like the exchange. Sometimes it's silly, sometimes it's insightful. Either way it's my opinion about JLo, who is the topic of discussion for this site. Not Codymama, bobbie or Mike @ Rapha. Something for thought - The other day I asked my stepdaughter what kind of man she wanted to marry. She replied, "I want the first man I marry to be rich." The first man? I realized to her marriage is not a lifelong commitment. Now that's not JLo's fault, it's ours (her father's and mine). In trying to combat all the negative images like smoking and substance abuse, we forgot to teach her about love and commitment. To me it's a given, but to a child inundated with images like JLo and Brittany, it's an important lesson to include. It was one thing trying to explain why her friend's parents divorced after 10 years of marriage. It's quite another to have to explain why 55 hours of marriage is not acceptable and why it's not normal to have 3 different "soul mates" in 3 years. Like it or not people, especially children, hold on to the celebrity images that they see. As if drugs, gangs and teen pregnancy weren't enough, people like JLo and Brittany Spears have added one more thing that we parents have to battle against. I'm just glad that I had the talk with her. Now I know where I was falling short and still have time to make up for it. Just thought SOME of you might find this exchange interesting. Comments?

Anyhow, I hear you on what kids are watching. I have two of my own and may be getting a foster child. She is a 7 year old girl and has seen way to much in her home. I realize I can not shelter my kids but do know it is up to me to set the example. As much as we can't control it, people like J-lo, Britney, Brandy, get put on walls and worshiped like shrines. I was talking to my daughter and she says she wants to marry her boyfriend, I tell her shes young and shouldn't commit so soon she says it's okay theres always divorce. Somehow divorce is a normal thing and marrige isn't so sacred. I do believe in divorce, there are circumstances where people just can't live together but divorce should be looked at as a last resot and not as an option of just in case if find someone better. Callicat, Something is going on that is not to cool! In one of the magazines that I read it stated that Jennifer feels as though Marc is not showing her enough attention. At home they stay in different parts of the house and haven't been going out much. I didn't see her at the Music wards,(not the MTV music awards the other ones).They were at a fashion show and came in separately. But how many times have i been married - once - and we are still married. That's because I took my time and go to know them. Love can blind you and make you think the sun is shining at midnight. Married couples have arguments from time to time but when Jennifer and Marc had a fight in some hotel in London it was in the papers. I don't know how they can stand that. Bobbie I think the fact that we haven't heard much about them is encouraging. In the beginning I felt like Jen was just a publicity seeking homewrecker. I felt like she was doing all this for the headlines. According to the postings on this site, I wasn't the only one. Maybe it was just pure love this time. Maybe it will last (at least longer than the rest). The longer the media stays out of their relationship the better off they will be. Now don't get me wrong. I still think things were handled awfully. You don't get married four days after getting divorced. Epsecially without first breaking the news to your kids. That's just wrong. Bobbie - I did see a good bit of her new video. I couldn't watch it all because I had to go back to work. I thought the video was cute. Actually I thought it was smart on her part. I heard that she asked MTV to stop playing "Jenny From the Block" because Marc Anthony didn't like seeing her frolic with Ben. Sorenta, do you the fighting between Lopez and Anthony is going to present a better situation for the children. Did you grow up in a household where your parents never argued? And when these children grow up and get the opportunity to read the way their father handled the familial relationship - leaving their mother, with a baby that was less than a year old for a woman who had publicly confessed her love for over a year to another man - what do your think they will think of him and themselves? It is not what Anthony did, it was how he went about it. He could have waited. I understand wanting her to be admired and appreciated, but no one did this to her - she did it to herself. If you really look in his eyes, Man, there is sadness there. He looks pale and he has these dark circles around his eyes. I think the guilt, the pressure of being Jen's personal fan club, and that impetuous move is starting to hit him, Man. Marc Anthony is one of the most famous Salsa singers in the world, but what is he doing with his career now? I don't see how he is possibly giving much time to it, when he is always seen by Lopez's side, while she's working and doing promotions for her own career! He was on her movie sets, all her "Shall we Dance" press junkets, her music promotions overseas, a fashion show, her music video shoots, etc., to sitting in the next room while she did her interview for Vogue magazine. LOL! He has not left her side since the day he married her!

Wow, this site is really picking up. I remember when there were days between postings. Now everyone's got something to say. It's nice to have something entertaining to read between meetings. Anyway, I was just curious - how many of you think Jen would have made it past the first round of American Idol? I don't think she would have made it past the auditions. But that doesn't really matter because, voice wise, Janet Jackson and Madanna would not have made the cut either. Their entertainers not songbirds. Anyway, I think her new song is growing on me. I like the beat; it's something to get me moving. Her music is great for cleaning. Honestly. I get to moving, shaking and trying my little salsa moves (which is a pathetic sight) and before I know it the furniture has been dusted and the tub is clean. Try it! It works. As far as the marriage goes, I don't have a lot to say I just didn't want to be left out. :) Reluctantly I have to say that I agree with Sorenta. I don't think Jen is a sex addict. She's JLO; she can get sex anywhere, anytime. The men would line the streets. I do think she is lost, lonely and afraid (all of those little girl looking for daddy cliches). If it's true that Marc feels that he must accompany Jen everywhere to monitor what she says then he has bigger problems than I thought. Face it people - Jennifer was in love with Ben Affleck. As the saying goes, "what goes around, comes around." Affleck was her "getback" for all of the men in her past, including Marc Anthony, that she played. Affleck could not marry Jennifer because he knew that it would mean to his career. Not to mention the fact that he could not adjust to her tirades and uncontrollable fits of rage. He wasn't used to that. She ultimately described Affleck as a "coward." She felt that he allowed the media and all of the subesequent negative vibes that they were experiencing - that was not reported in the media - affect his decision not to marry. And while all of that may be true, Ben unlike Marc and some of these other guys, has very good friends and family around him that cautioned him about his motives and the importance of weighing consequences of his decisions. And they were right, the woman that he was about to commit his life to, turns around less than six months later and marries a man that was already married up until just 4 days before their wedding.

There is so much negative talk about what is going on in her marriage to Marc Anthony. In Touch and U.S. Weekly have a field day every week telling what Marc is doing to her. For instance here are an example of some of the negative things about him that have been published:
"They're been arguing, but recently things seem to be getting worse" (this in the media).
From In Touch:
1. How she had to sell her "beloved homes" - because Marc made her.
2. They bought a new penthouse, but it is HIS style and not hers.
3. He doesn't want her to wear her sexy outfits
4. Its all about Marc and what he wants.
5. She sold her homes because Marc was't comfortable where she spent time with other men.
6. He criticized her creative control of "Get Right"
7. She was sad to leave her Miami mansion - but Marc made her sell it.
8. Giving up her independence - because of Marc
9. Jenny from the Block/Get Right is too young-sounding to Marc.
10. He didn't like her sexy dance moves in the Get Right video
11. She desperately wants kids but he does not want any.
Now, you notice that the Star and Enquirer magazines talk about the Anniston/Pitt/Angelina scandal, but they never said anything about "Marc divorcing his wife and marrying Lopez 4 days later". In fact, NOTHING was SAID about the Marc/J-LO scandal, yet those tabloids make their living telling the dirt on celebrities. They talk about other celebrities but DO NOT talk about Jennifer Lopez. She has a "Court Order" that they cannot talk about her unless she approves what they are saying.
My point is, why is she allowing these stories to put her own husband in such a negative light? It was the biggest scandal of the year when she married Marc after being engaged to Ben Affleck, and NOTHING negative was said about it! Isn't that strange?
Jennifer Lopez has the power to SILENCE anyone that she wants, but the things they say that Marc is doing to her, would make any wife miserable.
"People Magazine" even reported when she did her video shoot with Fat Joe, he sat around the set all 21 HOURS, and we all know he follows her everywhere she goes, WHICH IS NOT NORMAL!
I believe she rushed and married Marc Anthony on the rebound and may regret it. Maybe her camp is planting these stories, in preparation for when she DUMPS him, the public will feel sorry for her, and she won't look bad.

Sorenta - I wasn't going to respond because I just assumed you were trying to start something and that was wrong on my part. If someone has a question and you have information that may be helpful you should share it. So here is what I know (or think I know). When we have clients fill out information we ask for demographics. Under race they can check White - non-Hispanic, White - Hispanic, Black - Hispanic and Black - non-Hispanic. I was confused at first, but as it was explained to me, "Hispanic" is not a race, it's an ethnicity. People from Spain are Hispanic but would be considered White and some people from Haiti or the Virgin Islands are Hispanic but they are Black. Kind of like being Greek. "Greek" is an ethnicity not a race. We have a huge Greek festival in our town. Anyway, if I had to guess I would say that Jennifer Lopez is White. PLEASE, please, please if I am wrong please clarify for me. I can only go on what I know personally. I am always looking for ways to broaden my knowledge. I hope this helps Sorenta.
