Jemina Pearl Beats Up Heckler • About this week's Detroit gig the "I Hate People" singer blogs: "dude fucked up during the last song by flicking lit cigarettes at me. not cool. i kicked his ass, there was blood, and everyone at the show cheered because he sucked." And in her defense the tour is cursed.

I believe this story as much as I would believe that miley cyrus would do the same thing, and for those who don't do math, that's equal, because they are the same person, right?

I'm not so sure I'd be so quick to dismiss this story. Ms. Pearl is a bit of a badass.

I was at the Be Your Own Pet show at the Mercury Lounge a couple years ago when she bitch-slapped a big dude who was on stage trying to give her a kiss.

I dunno... when you have to specify "there was blood," I think you're compensating for the fact that you didn't do much, because if she'd actually seriously kicked the guy's ass she'd be downplaying it for fear of a lawsuit or something.

It was staged. His cousin works for 2:30 Publicity, Jemina Pearl’s publicity company, and he got a spot on the guestlist and paid to yell things and take a beating, though he didn’t think she would actually make him bleed. He probably would have asked for more than the $80 and free drinks he got. That’s why he told me to pick up his glasses if they fell off, and why throughout the show he was dancing to her songs in the very front.
