Jenny Lewis Offers Her Acid Tongue This Fall

thumbnail icon: Jenny Lewis Offers Her Acid Tongue This Fall

Today P4K confirms most of what's been floating around regarding the next Jenny Lewis solo album: there will be a next Jenny Lewis solo album, it will be called Acid Tongue, and it will feature lots of people you've heard of. People like the she and him of She & Him, "Farmer Dave" Scher, Benji Hughes, Johnathan Rice (of singer-songwriter/Jenny's bf fame), A Perfect Circle's Paz Lenchantin, members of Lewis's family, and studio chum Elvis Costello. No, not Gregg Gillis, but she and Girl Talk have some history:

That clip never stops being cute. According to Wiki, Gregg's said he lifted his Girl Talk (Not A) DJ moniker from either a Jim Morrison poem title or a Merzbow side project, but obviously that's 'cause he was too embarrassed to admit he's a massive fan of Teen Set video magazine circa 1991. (By the way, here's a lesson I learned this weekend -- if you're moving, play Feed The Animals on a loop; chances are your movers will love you.)

Jenny's Acid Tongue is out this September on Warner.

This is easily my most anticipated album of the year (with Of Montreal a close second). The last one was amazing: catchy, touching, unique.

(In before people criticising 'Under the Blacklight' - we get it guys, you didn't like it)

does everyone seriously always forget that girl talk was also the name of a popular board game in the late 80s or...?

Not only do I remember the board game, but I remember the book series named for the board game. Because my adolescence was a sad one.

Also, I am really excited for this cd. I'm glad those songs from the last tour got recorded and are making the record.

i'm so excited for this record. i'm really happy to hear Zooey Deschanel will be on it as well. I think her and Jenny's voices will really complement each other. I Can't wait to hear it.

What's with all the She & Him love? I just don't get it. I've listened to bits of a few tracks posted here and there and it's just dull dull dull. Am I missing something? Come on, let me in on the secret.

Don't listen to bits and pieces of she and him! listen to their album volume one, it flows really good together! that's the secret.
or if you don't like it, whatever...

Delighted to hear this album news. Hopefully it's as good as Rabbit Furcoat, and lots better than Under the Blacklight.

Under the Blacklight sucked majorly (except "21"). Rabbit Fur Coat was decent.

Is it so much to ask for a return to the style of "The Execution of All Things"?

I know I'll get shit for that, but I am just not digging this whole identity crisis thing she/her band can't seem to shake.

Sucked majorly? I'm hoping by "sucked majorly" you meant "rocked majorly."

So much for all that positivity. And my sister definitely had the Girl Talk game.
