JT, MCR Sweep MTV VMA Noms

We're still over an hour away from MTV's Video Music Award reveal, scheduled to go down live on TRL. Is that thing still hosted by Jesse Camp? OK, we're a bit out of touch when it comes to MTV (though not Lauren Conrad, strangely). But we do know a few things. No one will win "Best Post Modern Video." Bette Midler will not host. And the show will be broadcast but once. (After that, we'll have to settle for watching highlights on every blog and video-sharing network.) So yeah, a lot like last year. Except in Vegas.

As you can tell from the post title, we're trying to stick out of the pack of sad music bloggers by inventing nominees before they're even announced. Who else? You tell us. Hmm. That sexy umbrella commercial is pretty popular.

Now we present 22 years in the history of Video Of The Year. If a banned clip can end up winning top honors, maybe there's hope for a Tay Zonday upset after all!

they ALWAYS show the awards ceremonies over and over and over. they say they show it just once, but a week later it'll be the only thing on mtv all day.

According to mtvnews.com:

"Breaking with tradition, the show will air once, and only once. After the show's lone airing, viewers will have a chance to customize the show and build their own versions of the VMAs across multiple platforms."

I really don't watch MTV anymore, though my wife makes me watch The Hills sometimes. From 1993-1998 I watched MTV about 12 hours a day.

MTV has lost it what happened to the good old days when they used to play real black talented artists like lauryn hill. She might have dissapeared from the limelight but her music lives on and most people would still want to see or hear her profound music. What is up with MTV promoting female black artists like beyonce, rihanna, ciara etc i mean these women are just manufactures dolls and forever humiliating themselves with their sex gimmick images and barbie doll looks, they are such a disgrace to the black communities. MTV must really think their strategy otherwise they will loose viewers to other channels
