Justin Hawkins Vows To Track Down Ebay Seller
Darkness frontman (and Bono/Chris Martin hater) Justin Hawkins purchased a £350 promo copy of his band's forthcoming album on Ebay in an attempt to stop it from leaking. Hawkins tells BBC News, "It's encoded so we'll have a name and a number - so we'll know which disc it is, who distributed it and who they distributed it to. And that person IS GOING TO GO DOWN."
Blogger Ben Cohen is hosting the catchy new Darkness MP3 "One Way Ticket" here. For some reason, he's not scared of this guy:

The song rocks!!!!

Is it just me, or is this a well-crafted rock song with *no hook* whatsoever?
Nice Flanger.
HORRIBLE fake sitar!

Justin Hawkins has done enough to keep the album out of people's hands by putting shitty music on it.
Did y'all ever hear them on loveline a couple years ago? Best jump the shark moment ever.
Vapid, shallow prick can kiss my darkness.

I think that flame tatoo towards his nether region is symbolic of the time he burned off his testicles so he could hit that outrageous falsetto.
Score = 0
why do people like gimmick music and shit with zero shelf life? after a half spin, it's over. isn't there enough good music to not listen to gimmicks and weird al and the darkness? COME ON!
Score = 0
I'm pretty sure this song is the reason why a majority of 70's and 80's butt rock was laughed and dismissed in the same decade.. with no one wanting to return

Sh'yah, why would anyone want to listen to a band when their lead guitarist flies over the audience in a tiger during his solos? Rock is not about ridiculous stage antics or excess... oh wait. Lighten up people!
Score = 0
*correction* "on a tiger" not "in a tiger" :)

Let's please not dis the name of Weird Al. He's sold more albums than the Darkness and has a 30 year career under his belt. And a new video animated by John Kricfalusi coming out, bitches.

When will they learn? If you don't want it leaked, don't send out promos.
And by the way, Justin, as a future resident of the where-are-they-now file you should know that free promotion is like a kiss from God on your little balding head.

Yikes.
Those comments by Justin scurred me.

the only thing of Justin Hawkins that has leaked is the flame blowing out his ass...

>When will they learn? If you don't want it leaked, don't send out promos.
This isn't a real leak. Most "leaks" aren't. Usually it's a record company trying to garner "buzz." What we have here is a band whose 15 minutes are up. The band knows it. The record comapny knows it. So they "leak" a track trying to kickstart things.
Or in K-Fed's case, it's the record company freaking out as they discover K-Fed has no talent. So they "leak" half a track (HALF - how convenient!) to try and prove he really is a pimp.

MORE COWBELL!
Holy shit that's bad! Somebody should pack all of these douchebags and their wack recordings on a rocket into the sun!

Ew, what is with Justin's tattoo (in the lower regions)?! He's definetly gonna regret that one later... I feel sorry for the poor sap who had to give him the tattoo....Ick.

if you dont 'get' the Darkness, forget 'like' them, if you dont GET them, you're an idiot. plain and simple.
so many elitist indie snobs these days with no sense of humor
Score = 0
I don't want to "get" the Darkness like I don't want to get the bird flu. So I guess I am an idiot indie snob without a sense of humor.
Score = 0
justin is obvioulsy of the opinion that the best way to endear himself to rock snobs is to make fun of chris martin and bono. nice try, but i think liam gallagher has that covered. bye bye darkness, you are crap.
Score = 0
You mean that's not David Lee Roth?

Anybody who hates Bono and Chris Martin can't be all bad.
Score = 0
first of all we indie fans DO have a sense of humour and can be witty however when theres shit like this out in the world by someone who is dissing Chris Martin or Bono [im not a fan of the two either but whatever] whom both are greater than stupid Justin Hawkins is plain stupid and a feeble way of trying to make people believe that the Darkness is a "good" band. Fact is; Darkness:Crap. Justin & K-Fed should do a collaboartion, that way they'll be 2005's Best Whitetrash Duo.
Score = 0
PUHLEESE! The Darkness is the most refreshing and interesting band to hit the scene in AGES! The person who said the haters neither 'get them' or have a sense of humor is absolutely correct.
They are unique and nostalgic at the same time...a feat I've seen from no other band in recent memory. Plus, they are just plain FUN!
If you don't like The Darkness, it is because you DON'T get it and you have NO sense of humor. Either that, or you're jealous. ;-) I'm betting it's the last one!

I love these guys who rag on the overly earnest likes of Bono, et al. Yeah, I'm tired of them too, but at least he's out there solving the world's problems so you have time to CHASE DOWN SOMEONE WHO SOLD A PROMO ON EBAY. Get a life, Hawkins - preferably a quiet one where I'll never hear word of you again. (And yes, I know it's all meant to be a laugh, but the punchline sucks.)

Wow... there is so much hate here... I'm pretty easy going on all kinds of music especially Rock (and all its little variations). I’ve got to say there’s nothing wrong with Chris Martin or Bono.. they do what they do and its pretty good (I don’t know what the dude means bout Bono sorting out the worlds problems - I mean Ghandi was a greater guy but so what it don’t mean his music was any good!) were not all born philanthropists and singers.. In any case, Justin n the rest of the Darkness just do something different to U2 and Coldplay (n btw I like Coldplay but I’ve seen them live twice and they just don’t pull it off as well as I had hoped, Chris just doesn’t have the vocal range he needs)... The Darkness are a totally different style and they are liked by different people and its nice to have that difference, it's nice to have something that’s reminiscent of Queen and other British bands of the 80's. The energy these guys pull off on stage is far greater than that of a lot of bands nowadays who have given up on the charisma side of Rock. They are simply providing us with a choice of music and I'm really glad for that. If you don’t like it don’t buy it... but it certainly doesn’t make it rubbish.. Try to have more of an accepting open mind, opinions are fair enough but don’t take them too far people… music is there for our enjoyment, calm the brooding..
