Krist Novoselic On That Time His Bass Came Crashing Down On HIs Head In his latest column for the Seattle Weekly, the Nirvana bassist reveals the behind-the-scenes drama surrounding his band's classic, head-smashing performance of "Lithium" at the '92 VMAs. It includes unpleasantries exchanged between Axl Rose and Kurt & Courtney, "Rape Me," warm beer, and (spoiler alert) a bloody foreheaded Krist sipping champagne with Brian May. Must love the '90s.
