Last Minute Indie Rock Halloween Costume Ideas

We've had our share of technical difficulties today (that's what we get for having a site updated by witches), but it's time to get in costume and trick or treat or drink the pain away. You really should have your costume all picked out by now, but because there's bound to be a procrastinator or two amongst you, let's dive into some indie rock ideas for desperate Halloween disguises.

Tall and skinny? Grab a dress and be Bradford Cox. Not so tall and not at all skinny? Grab goggles, bright colors and a trippy green skull and ... voilà: Dan Deacon. You're always just a set of ventilated, venetian blind shades away from a Kanye costume...

Or a massive beard away from Ben Bridwell or Sam Beam.

If you need tips for your Amy Winehouse costume, head over to Brooklyn Vegan; he's got pics of like 300 different folks that already have your idea.

And there's always Steve Jobs (or an iPhone!).

If you're sitting on some good ideas -- or pics of something rocking you wore or saw -- post 'em up for the greater good. And one helpful hint: every getup is better zombified (especially you "Dick In A Box"-costumed folks).

I don't even know if this counts as a real costume, but my friends and I are dressing up as the Pipettes--by wearing polka dotted dresses.

yeah...this is what happens when all your other costume ideas and halloween plans fail miserably.

Go as perez hilton, it would be a great chance to be gay and bitchy in New York. Im sure new york is lacking gay bitchy men, right?

I'm looking forward to the fiery furnaces write up next week. By monday your minds will re-assemble after being blown @ the Hiro on Sat.

you should put some stuff by the small town indie band Suits and Ties. The song You Were A Snowflake is amazing!!! I know they won't care, they want their music to be heard.

These may not be considered indie rock, but here's me as Old Gregg from the Mighty Boosh with Raleigh St. Clair from the Royal Tenenbaums:

hey, yahoo! i was thinking about going as her? so what did you do for it? striped garters and painted eyebrows i've already thought of. i was thinking of wearing lacy underwear shorts and a big black t-shirt or a black jumper with the A on it. what'd you do for it and how many people knew who you were?

Dressing up like an indie rocker DOES seem like pretty a fast ticket to Indie Rock Yuppie-dom.

Indie rock is built on a foundation of dress up these days.
