Let's (Watch People) Dance

Between So You Think You Can Dance (ouch), P. Diddy's upcoming MTV dance show (snooze), and Fuse's Pants-Off Dance-Off (which at least involves stripping), booty shaking competitions are all over TV this year. I'm amazed there's an audience for all this, but then again, I don't know how to dance (think David Byrne in Stop Making Sense).

Fuse's series, despite being dubbed "the dumbest show on television" by TV Guide, has been picked up for another season. And they need YOU to to audition.

Apparently Full House's now-recovered crystal meth addict will guest host. Sort of icky casting, but props to Fuse for keeping Jodie Sweetin off the streets. What's the last time MTV threw Jesse Camp a bone? I worked with that kid at the MTV Beach House years ago. Let's just say it wasn't an act.

I never watch Fuse, but I get the feeling I'm missing out. Do they have shows my DVR should know about?

I stopped watching Fuse once they started airing that retarded TRL-ish "Daily Download." And now they've got TV shows... Is it really that hard to air 24 hours of music videos, folks? How many so-called "music stations" will fall prey to regular programming? MTV is dead, MTV2 is dying (though we did get "Wonder Showzen" out of it, so it's not a total loss). And I don't even get MTV-U, so I can't comment on it.

And I sure wish TV Guide would look at the crap they're airing on their own channel before they start calling other programs the dumbest.

They show "The Dive" once a week, which is like MTV2's "Subterranean," only worse.

There's a show on Tuesdays called "The Nighttime Clap" hosted by two fine folk from the UCB Theatre.

Also, there's a show called "Muchies" that airs right after it with a bunch of comedic shorts that came from Channel 101 and Channel 102.

I love Fuse. I like F List, Nighttime Clap, Steven's Untitled Rock Show, The Dive, and yes Pants Off Dance Off. Oh, Munchies is awesome too. And as for music TV, I think Fuse plays more music than all the others combined.

what's up with that weirdo faux-metal girl who gives bad advice and tries to be hot/edgy? Seriously, someone take her off tv.

Of course not a dis! But only Byrne can get away with the 'chopping the arm.'

I've watched Fuse twice, I think. But one of them was a recording of the Muse show in LA from their last tour, which was definitely worth having DirecTV or whatever you need to have it.

It's amazing just how bad Fuse really is. Here was a chance for a new network to give MTV a run for it's money by becoming an alternative for smart good music, but instead they just blew it by becoming a sub-MTV... if that's even possible.

Yeah, I have to say I hate that show. Tila Tequila is one of the most useless people on the planet. Even the oddballs they have dancing are better than her.

Though the addition of Stephanie Tanner would certainly make me tune in at least once, to satisfy curiosity.

This bitch is lying!!! Have you ever seen how hideous a crystal meth addict is? This bitch probably smoked that shit maybe 3 times and said she was addicted so people would feel sorry for her and she'd be relevant again.

If you like heavy metal, watch Uranium with Juliya, the aforementioned "faux-metal girl." I dunno about "edgy" but she definitely pulls off the "hot". She's sexy as all hell. And her show where she gives sex advice to dumbass teenagers while wearing black lingerie is possibly the greatest innovation in the history of broadcast cinema. Just hit the mute button when the dumbasses come on.

Sometimes Fuse can be pretty entertaining in my opinion. One of the series they're airing now, a sketch comedy show called 'Whitest Kids U Know' sounds a bit...stupid, for lack of a better phrase. But it's actualy quite entertaining and interesting to watch. The skits have humor with an undertone of "America, you're pathetic." Worth the watch. I can't say to much about Pants-Off-Dance-Off, though.

Band To Watch: Blank Dogs

Blank Dogs are actually singular: It's the insanely prolific one-man Brooklyn-based band of Mr. Blank Dog. We don't know too much about the biography of the guy behind the bedroom new-wave pop/punk and he's usually covering his face with masks...
