man, SNL is an utter piece of shit--what I don't understand is that they have what? a staff of like 35 writers and the best they can come up with is completely unfunny parodies of TV shows. Was anyone really laughing at the "Top Model skit? Just pure garbage, it's like watching 7th grade improv games.
Shame on ANYONE for finding that show funny or even the slight bit creative.

i thought the show was pretty funny last night. to those who didnt like the top model sketch - have you seen the show? maya did a great tyra impression and tina was funny as janice. just because you aren't familiar with the source material doesn't make the sketch garbage...
and about the "racist" thing - humor shouldn't always have to be p.c. think of the best stand-up or improv you've heard, i doubt all of it is politically correct.

I still can't get over how sick she looked. She says she dies her hair and lost weight for a new movie playing Meryl Streep's daughter. Let's hope she gains the weight back, cause without it, she's nothing- literally.
Will Ferrell should have been the finale- everytime I hear QOTSA now I think of that big belly, and undersized shirt and a fro! That was great.....
That being said, Coldplay was good. The show wasn't all that bad, it had funny moments, but an all in all dissapointment. I've always been a fan of Appalation (sp?) Emergency Room! I didn't think the Top Model thing was bad, but I didn't get most of it cause I don't watch the real show. It was worth it to see Amy fall over like that and call everyone bitches! "Hey, you do know you're a 3 foot white girl, right?"

Yeah, I've been hiding in my office all day because I'm so *ashamed* I still watch SNL. I'm not sure how much I'd see without DVR, but every week at least a couple sketches are genuinely funny IMO.
Sketch comedy is always going to be hit or miss, aside from the State back in the day, SNL, and Chappelle I don't remember TV sketch shows ever being terribly good (I guess I could add some of the Dana Carvey show and the Kenny Rogers Jackass sketches from Mad TV).

i'm all for terrible and offensive humor, but as someone actually recently living in appalachia, i can't say i'm all for the "cheap hit" appalachians tend to get. it's one of those last groups of people that it's still "okay" to make fun of, and i just think there's got to be a better, smarter way to make people laugh w/o taking it out at the expense of some of the worst off people in the country.

SNL pretty much sucked but someone said it before- Mya does a hilarious Tyra Banks impression. They'll get better, they need to drop a few people and add some fresh faces.
I'm just happy that Jimmy Fallon left the show and hasn't come back- its better off without him, he fucking ruined everything and I walked out of Fever Pitch. Mind you, I was high but I saw right through the movie and we went and saw House of Wax instead. Go high.
