Luna Disbands

Jetset Records announced today that "after more than a decade creating some of the most important, essential and bewitchingly beautiful rock music," Luna are calling it quits.

An extensive farewell tour kicks off in Japan this month and hits the states in November.

Luna's final album Rendezvous is out 10/26.

that's a little sad. i only have one of their songs, 'Astronaut', but it's one of my favorites. and, i'm moving to the west coast in a week so i will be missing their tour. hrm.

Does anyone know why they're disbanding? Have they made a statement, or are they just burned out, which is understandable?

im sad about luna disbanding... they were one of the bands i was so manic about in college. i must see them at the middle east!!

At least i was able to see them live before they split, something i can't say about Galaxie 500.
I guess Dean will continue his project with Britta.
