Luther was huge in my house and amoung my 4 sisters and I growing up - Hot Butterfly, Bad Boy Having a Party and especially the I'll Let You Slide album.

I looked at many of the comments about Luther looking down on us and being an angel, did his life reflect one of whom we know is in heaven? How many memories do I have of Luther. I never missed one of his concerts. Where many people will have to go out and buy Luther's CDs, I won't have to do that because I have them all. I even have videos of Luther on the Oprah Winfrey Shows, Arsenio Hall Shows, BET, etc.
Luther got me to work every day with his music.
His talent was truly God given and I know he is now singing with the angels.

I was at the Riverside Church when KissFM hosted a NIGHT OF HEALING for Luther and fellow crooner Barry White. It was a beautiful inspiration! Such stars such as Freddy Jackson, Melba Moore, Ashford & Simpson, Cissy Houston and others were present and showed their love for the BALLADEERS.
Luther, you will me missed tremendously and God has a seat right next to Him. I love you with all my heart and I will see you when I get there.

The world will never come to know another Luther Vandross. It doesn't matter how the industry tries to create, duplicate, or imitate... the fact still remains, there was only one sooooo great!!! As an aspiring recording artist, I wanted nothing more to meet this man one day, but that will never happen. I prayed for him when he was sick and prayed for his Mom, to give her a fresh supply of strength to help him and keep his spirits uplifted. From all of the comments I have read, I am probably one of the older fans of LV, I remember when he first started and made it big. He was one of those famous people that you never heard anything bad or negative about. In all of his years at the top of the music industry, you never heard of him trying to hurt anybody or do anyone wrong. I was greatly saddened when I heard the news Luther had passed. I was driving with my family on vacation. The kids were asleep and it was just my wife and I listening to a soul station in Florida and when I heard the news, I put my head in my hands and almost crashed. My wife said she was sad too but she was surprised how much the news hit me. I saw him twice in concert (with my wife only once) and he was a true artist. His voice is unmistakable and the emotion he put into every note shook me to my core. I've been a fan since his days with Change. So many of his songs had the word "love" in it and were about love, one must assume he knew more meanings to the word than most and it came out in his songs. My favorite song of his is "Wait For Love" but ask me when I would be in a different mood and it could be one of his many other songs. Luther was a great artist and i will miss him very much. its sad because now that he's gone i cry myself to sleep at night because i think of how he never got a chance to find out waht true love was like. he never married so he expessed how he felt in his songs and thats what make him to GREAT.

Luther Vandross was an inspration to me whenever my stepfater had passed away. His song "Dance with my father Again" made me cry and think....I always wanted to dance with my stepdad and even though he wasnt my real birth father he still treated me like I was his very own.So I thank you Luther for that wonderful song and I am ALWAYS remember your music and your love to your music because your music is REAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
