Mandy Moore Talks Ryan Adams, Robin Pecknold

thumbnail icon: Mandy Moore Talks Ryan Adams, Robin Pecknold

I know you've been wondering about newlyweds Ryan Adams and Mandy Moore. Who programs the DVR? Does Ryan sneak Marlboro Lights? Are the two going to record together? EW caught up with the musician/actress/lingerie model whose new album Amanda Leigh is out 5/26 (don't be too judgmental, she has good taste). Says the Mrs., "There's a lot more metal being played in the house than ever before. It's like, 'No, no, that's hair metal, that's not black metal. And that's more melodic Scandinavian metal.' It's hard to discern, but I'm starting to get there." Sounds like me and Stosuy. Also, she's obsessed with Fleet Foxes.

"Last year, I was obsessed with Fleet Foxes, and I still am. I found their [Sun Giant] EP at the record store -- I liked the cover, so I picked it up. I love them. I actually exchanged one email with [Fleet Foxes frontman Robin Pecknold] last year. I was like, "I want to write with him!" He was so nice -- such a deep, intense music guy. He was really inquisitive about, "What kind of record is this? What do you want to write about?" Obviously he wouldn't have been listening to my music. I just thought it was so cool of him. He said, 'I'd love to, but we're busy.' I was such a nerdy fan, like, 'Oh my god, I can't believe he wrote me!'"

Mandy you oughta follow him on Twitter? Anyway, Robin Pecknold ... The New Nicest Guy In Indie Rock? Sorry Vanderslice.

You can read the rest of the Q&A here. As for the spouses' musical collab: "I'm sure in due time something will probably come about."

"Noooooo" to the marriage...

Then again Ryan needs someone to settle his crazy *ss down.

Wasn't she with Greg Laswell like a minute ago?

My sister met Mandy at a Fleet Foxes show at the El Rey in LA. She said Mandy was very nice.

No one ever wrote a Heartbreaker happily married and off heroin.
Not saying he should start using again...but y'know. Just a bit? Maybe?

Why else would innumerable rockstars over the years have done drugs if it wasn't cool? You've obviously never taken a shot of heroin to the eyeball.

i love how she hears their album, then is like "i want to write with him!". entitlement much? i like mandy (loved her in "saved" and "chasing liberty"), but seriously, how many chances and opporunities is someone as privileged as her allowed to have before they just accept that they are a mediocre talent and just enjoy music like the rest of us? her current single is catchy and likeable, but ultimately forgettable. unfortunately i think this is pretty much the story of her entire career. give me the duffster any day of the week.

Hilary Duff's debut ("Metamorphosis") was one of the better albums of 2003.

"Kites ARE Fun"...Van Dyke parks...always with the Van Dyke parks...I was THAT music geeky myself...""Song Cycle"...Palm Desert" hit like magic bullets...(muck like "Heroes and Villians")...but it took along time to put up with alot of that cutsey Mr Bean bullshit...I still think about "Blood" and the "Sopranos" myself...I've come to the conclusion that D.D Lewis made it better than the script actually was...

Oh, please, chloe. Mandy Moore's Coverage album is the highest regarded cover album ever recorded. Her pop albums, that she no longer likes by her public accounts, are still regarded as being better than Britneys. Mandy was The National Anthem Girl in arenas and parks across America. She's sung on countless hits and on countless hit soundtracks. Only Hope is a cult folk classic of recent years. Do your research before you post things like what you just did. Jealous much. I do agree that Hilary Duff is the stuff, too, however. The real mystery seems to be why she got married to a guy she's only barely known, who isn't exactly anyones idea of a critical match for a girl of Mandys esteem.

it is poosible that people can grow into a marriage but with so much negativity and media scruitiny, M&R are going to have people betting against 'em rather than allowing them the space to be "normal" Mandy should be allowed the space to write/produce a personal album that relates to her personally, and it does not have to over-sell (she's already set financially). She could pay a good song writer to write some top 40 or some classic successful music - "any day of the week" but then it might break someone's heart.

Well, if her supposed marriage is any reflection of her current fake trip to Africa, which everyone's already saying isn't really happening and that she is really in LA making this shit up on Twitter, then this whole marriage is a publicity scam, which it already looks like anyway. She needs better than this fake shit. Who wants to go to obamaland anyway? No one.
