Moby Blogs About The Flipper Show

Sep 20, 2006 - nyc

so tonight i went to see 'american hardcore'.
a documentary about the hardcore scene in america in the early 80's.
it made me nostalgic.
the hardcore scene in the early 80's was amazing.
it was new and genuine and authentic.
it was remarkable.
and at the afterparty i played 'sex bomb' with flipper.
to set the record straight, i sang with flipper for 2 nights in 1982 or 1983.
at pogo's in bridgeport, ct, and at trinity college in hartford, ct.
i don't 100% remember.
and they don't 100% remember.
but we all agree that it happened, contrary to the way it's presented in the movie.
and tonight i played bass during 'sex bomb', which arbitrarily became a ct hardcore anthem.
every ct hardcore band played 'sex bomb' at the end of their set.
cia, reflex from pain, vatican commando's, etc.
we all ended our sets with 'sex bomb'.
much in the same way that dc bands ended their sets with '12xu'.
the good old days.
ok, that's all.
g'night.

Yeah, probably best not to mention the "I won't be online until 2007" thing. We'll just pretend it never happened. Like Hotel.

well he did say he would send his manager blogs to put online via snail mail, but this seems like a pretty quick turn around.

I was at the show and it wasn't anything special. Moby wouldn't leave the stage, or stop playing for that matter. I have pictures on the old blog.

I care enough about Moby to post my thoughts three times.

I remember "Stepping Stone" as being the DC all around cover o' choice.

is his latest post important? no. but what i do like about moby is that he actually has a viewpoint. most musicians/popstars are vapid and completely lacking in substance.

by the way - its loads easier and quicker to type without capitalizations and apostrophes.

i hope you feel better about yourself. i know that i would if i were you. the difference between us making multiple posts is that mine was an accident. you actually took the time to do it. i bet you were chuckling to yourself the whole time too.

I'm just wondering what that "American Hardcore" movie is like--is Husker Du in there much?

I just think it's funny that Moby cares enough to set the record straight for anyone. I mean it was only two nights. Yes, its a big deal that you shared a stage with Flipper. I am sure it was an extremely great moment. But what credit or acknowledgement do you expect?!?!?!? This is not your audience.
