Mogwai's The Hawk Is Howling Is Streaming As of today, the Glaswegian's newest (out 9/23 via Matador) is streaming in full at the their MySpace. We've posted The Hawk's "The Sun Smells Too Loud" and "Batcat," but now you get to see firsthand if "I'm Jim Morrison, I'm Dead" and "I Love You, I'm Going To Blow Up Your School" live up to their billing.

I'm dissapointed in this album...a big step down after Mr. Beast.

terrible album. It's like one long boring song.

Mr Beast is so much better.

Actually, as a whole I quite like this better than Mr. Beast. It's kinda like CODY... might seem boring at first but turns out to be some of their best work.

"Cody" is the best track ever.

Clearly less accessible than Mr. Beast, but after repeated listens some of the tracks grew on me quite a bit. "Scotland's Shame" is fantastic, so are "I'm Jim Morrison..."

Sounds like Mogwai are back to alienating people who don't have a long attention span (aka the old mogwai)

Agreed with mogmog and Brett. This album is a slow cooking grower, meaning don't discard it after 2 listens.

I think it's a pretty solid album. It's got some really good tunes, like blow up your school and scotland's shame. jim morrison, danphe and space expert are also growing on me.

It's a testament to the quality act that is Mogwai. Seems to me that a whole lot of bands are outgrowing their creative cycles with only 2 albums, and their third ones and follow-ups are total busts. These guys have been around for over 10 years, constantly putting out solid material.

I'm also excited cause I'm seeing them live for the first time in 2 days.... whoop!

Enjoy the show! Saw them two nights ago and it was quite good (as well as gloriously loud!)
