Monsters Of Folk Coming Soon The previously reported Jim James/M. Ward/Conor Oberst collab project has a release date (9/22). Also a site which doesn't offer much (yet), although the credit to Yim Yames is a nice touch.

Wait, so it's actually called "Monsters of Folk?" but none of those people actually make folk music. Confusion.

Well, I would say that a great deal of the music these artists make is Folk-Rock, which in my opinion is kind of like a monsteresque version of folk.

Wait, so they are actually called "The Beatles?" but none of those people are actually beetles. Confusion.

but "folk" is a music genre. It isn't unreasonable to equate a band that has a music genre in their name to that genre.

JJ has actually been rocking the Yim Yames moniker for a while now. Ugh, I wish Evil Urges never happened.

I'm excited for this (minus Oberst) but my lord that is a goofy name for a band

Eagles of Death Metal don't make.... death metal either.

...and yeah, total raw deal for Mogis.

This could be good, I guess. But it could be bad, and just delay a new MMJ record. Making it double bad.

I'm excited to hear this, not really the Conor Oberst parts though...

This sounds pretty rad actually. I hope it's rad. Also... If you're checking out Conor on tour anytime soon, make sure to check out his opener: Deep Sea Diver. They're great.
