Mork & Mindy & Blue Öyster Cult

Thanks to NBC promos dept., I've had Blue Öyster Cult in my head all week. They've been using "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" in tune-in spots for tonight's Behind The Camera: The Unauthorized Story Of "Mork & Mindy." Dare I say it looks Tivo-worthy?

Anyway, I love that song. I found it on the Internet for y'all.
Blue Öyster Cult - "(Don't Fear) The Reaper"

However, for Mork's coked-up years I prefer to reminisce with the electronica remix.
Apollo 440 - "(Don't Fear) The Reaper"

And yes, of course I'm gonna link to SNL's BTM: BÖC (Windows Media). I gotta have more cowbell, baby!

"Babies, before we're done here, y'all be wearing gold-plated diapers."

"What does that mean?"

"Never question Bruce Dickinson!"

Do you think they looked for a hairy actor to play Williams? Or did they have to graft bear genes onto his human genes?

Synchronicity!

I saw this commercial and started laughing. First, I laughed at the fact that a movie existed about the behind the scenes going ons of Mork and frikkin Mindy. Then, I laughed at the use of this song. Then, I got the song stuck in my head, found it, downloaded it, and listened to it. Then, I found this post.

It's not just you, Nelson. This song has been officially ruined for me - I burst into fits of laughter now when I hear it.

I'm definitely feeling the whole Keren Ann under the "Rocking the iPod", considering my last post was to suggest her under the post regarding albums people should hear. lol. Nice choice.

Hey Stereogum-- Since you're linking to SNL skits and all, any chance you could find someway to shoehorn a link to the Neil Diamond Storytellers into an upcoming post? I absolutely love that skit...

Im not a fan of the Apollo version, but the SNL skit was pretty fucking funny. Cowbells and tambourines rule.

Wilco has been covering DFtR in their recent live shows. I don't know how much cowbell they use.

I agree, the original is ruined for me now. All I hear is the c-c-c-c-cowbell.
