Another Editors Cover - "Road To Nowhere"

You were not impressed with Editors' "Orange Crush." Yet, we still await the studio b-side of the band's Talking Heads' cover. In the meantime check out this previously unreleased acoustic version, recorded at Woxy's Live Lounge last month.

Again, I like it. Though maybe I'm parial to the song, which is one of my favorites.

worst cover of my favorite song ever. and a well-butchered cover of my childhood (little monsters, anybody?) i am so tired of buzz-bands trying to cover the talking heads.

I wish indie bands would start covering Weird Al Yankovic. I'd love to hear the Arcade Fire's version of Dare to be Stupid.

They have a really great cover of Gorillaz' Feel Good Inc. out there that should get some extra attention.

Don't see the point of a cover if it doesn't change the style

wasn't barndon flowers touting the talking heads good name this week when announcing 'the best album of the last 20 years' will be upon us with the killers next release?

This sucks so bad.

All the ironic humor and jovialness of the original tune by the Talking Heads is wrung out in favor of a despair-ridden acoustic campfire thing.

This is what happens when shitty bands are encouraged by their coke-snorting A&R men at the major label record company to do covers. They say, "Oh, do new wave! That's got a revival. You'll be the next France Ferndinad!" But do an acoustic version, like Bob Dylan Unplugged!

If you can't do a cover right, or inject something new into it, don't fucking bother with it.

These two covers have ensured that I'll never buy anything by the Editors - ever.

"These two covers have ensured that I'll never buy anything by the Editors - ever."

What a reasonable response. Moron.

The cover is nothing special but man, you guys are way too harsh considering that this is just a random radio thing.

I was surprised when the guys said that they were going to do a cover. Then again, I guess when you're getting ready to launch a ton of US promotion for an album that you've already been playing in the UK for a year already, you want to mix it up a bit.

Anyway, thanks for the link Stereogum! We check out the site everyday.

"THE" Talking Heads — ?!?

it's awfully good to see we all know the correct name of the band we're getting pedantic about & defending like postnatal jackal mothers, folks.

Band To Watch: Blank Dogs

Blank Dogs are actually singular: It's the insanely prolific one-man Brooklyn-based band of Mr. Blank Dog. We don't know too much about the biography of the guy behind the bedroom new-wave pop/punk and he's usually covering his face with masks...
