Atlas Sound Remixes Stereolab
His Halloween treats already in the bag, Bradford Cox has shifted his attention to remixing recent tourmates Stereolab's Chemical Chords track "Neon Beanbag." This is his so-called "Southern Baptist" remix. The opening preacher man sample sounds familiar. As far as the song itself, Cox sets chillier tones against claps and an overall phased, less brassily cheery feel. Somehow he makes it feel both more spacious and more bedroom muffled. It opens up best with headphones.

Chemical Chords is out now via 4AD. So far it's proven highly remixable.
