The Black Keys Cover Captain Beefheart

thubmnail icon: The Black Keys Cover Captain Beefheart

Yesterday saw Cryptacize taking on Steely Dan's "Peg." Today it's the Black Keys covering Captain Beefheart's Safe As Milk tune "I'm Glad." (No, not this one.) The song doesn't show up on Attack & Release -- the soulful, grinding, slow-builder was recorded yesterday at Dan's place. Which is what's called a quick turnaround. It's the first we've heard from the Ohioans since their triumphant, down and dirty Letterman appearance, and we're digging it ... good times, indeed.

The Black Keys - "I'm Glad" (MP3)

"I'm Glad"'s downloading for free over at MySpace, but only until 5/9, so godspeed. Ours will do down then, too.
