Blitzen Trapper Cover Heart

Another cover for your dreary Friday. This one comes from the sonic alchemists of Blitzen Trapper, who generally enjoy taking country conceit and twisting its corners with whatever accoutrements they can kick up, be it an errant synth line or a flat EQ'd drum fill. So it shouldn't be surprising that they make Heart's "Crazy On You" sound like something Kevin Barnes would claim with pride. Or maybe that is a little surprising.

Blitzen Trapper - Crazy On You" (MP3)

The track comes from Bridging The Distance, a covers compilation featuring artists with an affinity for Portland, including The Decemberists, The Joggers, The Thermals, Viva Voce, Britt Daniel, and of course, Blitzen Trapper. The 19-track album is out 4/17, with proceeds to benefit p:ear. Lots of goodies on this one. Full tracklist after the jump.

Today sucks. It's raining and I am in bed sick with some stomach ailment. I was sweating profusely, and in dire need of some entertainment. This made my day, and I will be eagerly awaiting this release.
