CFCF Remix HEALTH
HEALTH's cacophonous open-field noise-pop has always lent itself to re-interpretation -- which is why the quartet wisely released an entire remix album, Disco, on the heels of their debut. As we've mentioned, and as you've heard via "Die Slow" and "We Are Water," the Los Angeles group's Get Color makes for exhilarating, relentless listening in its original form. Montreal's CFCF, who shifted HEALTH's "Triceratops" way back when, take away the percussive pluck of Get Color's darkly droning "Before Tigers," transforming the song into a more meditative Washed Out experience. You get the sense it could be re-touched endlessly.
